I-4 is only part of Orlando's issues. Driving SR436 any time of day is dangerous. Also alot of the divided highways not having guard rails in the median is a silly thing too here in FL.

Combine the 1960's planned roads with the influx of people from around the world to this area, it's not going to get better anytime soon.

Makes me miss the back country roads/paved horse and buggy trails in central Mass, along with the drivers on the Boston area interstates (where EVERYONE drives fast).

...how much _profit_ does a popular show like this generate for a network? (not counting syndication or merchandising - just first run shows and repeats on the network) Tens of millions? Hundreds of millions? Or is it one of those "lets take a loss on this show, and make more moola off a less popular show"

Someone here mentioned that if all the actors were paid what they are asking for, its to the tune of ~$48 mil. Is that enough to hurt Fox or are they just tightwads?

foodtv.com is a great site for recipes. Me and my wife have found quite a few good meals just clicking on the random recipe link.

A couple neat things about their recipes:

Alot of them are right from the shows, so if you see a show where they're flying through the cooking, you can get everything on the website.

Also other recipes are there from the "foodtv kitchen staff" so there is a lot more on the site than they show on tv.

epicurious.com is also another great site. Found a great chili recipe there. (cut the amount of beef in half though).

Actually, it is listed at the website (seems to be 'over bandwidth limit' at the moment).

For some reason it is listed under the "North Florida" section. There isn't much more information about the airstrip on the website though than you mentioned.

As a side note, if I recall correctly, arent some of the NDB's or Beacons or whatever they are called in the Orlando area named after Disney characters?

I've quoted this before, still think its one of the funnyest exchanges in Simpsons history:

Lenny: Hey Homer, that's four strikes in a row. You've got a perfect game going.

    Homer: Really?

Carl: Careful what you say, Lenny; you'll jinx him.

    Lenny: Oh, right, sorry.

[Homer steps up to the line, and gets ready to bowl]

Lenny: Miss! Miss! [Homer and Carl glare at him] Sorry, I was calling the waitress.
[to waitress] Ah, this split you sold me is making me choke.

    Homer: Lenny!

Lenny: What? I paid 7.10 for this split.

Carl: Will you at least call it a banana split, you dumbwad?

Lenny: Hey, spare me your gutter-mouth. [Homer strikes Lenny by throwing a bowling ball at him]

Actually in Epcot (Florida) theyve thankfully got rid of Captain EO and replaced it with a much better "Honey I Shrunk The Audience" 3d flick with all the cast members from the movies, as well as Eric Idle. Well worth seeing.

And who can forget the best 3d show in the world? The 3d Muppet movie at MGM is hilarious.

Also Disney is working on a new 3d attraction for the Magic Kingdom, opening next year I think.

At least the Imagineers have kept 3d alive.

Oh, and if your'e in Florida, check out the Terminator 3d movie at Universal. :)

Dont think it will be GPLed...Austin keeps a pretty tight rein on the development.

The game is open to addons and creation of new
scenery and aircraft which can be found all over the place. www.flightsim.com is a good place to start. Dont know about the Linux version, but the Mac/Win versions are very open, even having a real time 'dump' option of paramaters in the game to feed into whatever addon programs people make.

The game also includes some pretty neat features, such as setting up a network of computers, having one be the cockpit and another
being an outside view, or one computer computing the scenery and the other taking care of the rest.

Austin has awesome support, for at least the Mac/Win versions to date, even answering support emails himself.

He is also very open to users ideas and bug tracking. Alot of what is in the game was suggested by others. Another great thing is he also is constantly developing the game, patches appear very frequently.
