If you spec them the same they are very competitively priced. The low end Macs come with lots of stuff the Dell's don't. It's even more noticeable with the laptops. The iMac is a very good comparison to the Dell. Though the the one I'm looking at right now, the Dell Precision 470 starts at $1039 and only has a 40GB drive, CD Rom, and 512 MB of RAM... Hmmm... makes me wonder which workstation you're talking about...
Once again some dipshit seems to think that Macs cost 2x as much as Windows boxes. Not true.... FALSE... TROLL.... If you actually take a look at the offerings from Dell and the other big sellers you'll notice that Macs are competitive pricewise with what you can get from them... Now crawl back in your hole hippie...
Obviously you're just a steaming pile of troll sh1t. But then again I guess you never heard of NextStep and Widgets before. Konfabulator was nothing new. Hence they have no recourse. Get with it or get lost..... and coward is absolutely correct...
Hey numnuts it's a common business practice. Apple is no the only company that keeps the next product under wraps until the time is right. Maybe you need to look at marketing campaigns for everything from cars to bicycles to stereo equipment. Or I guess "null" is what you got going on in your head...
Hey jackass new product does not equal obsolete. Apple products have a much longer lifespan period. But I guess an asshat like yourself just wants to bitch, go back to your XP box and leave us alone.
Did Cisco not learn anythign from their MGX series. One thing goes wrong the whole box is down. I'm sorry but it is a bad idea in my book. It makes it much harder to diagnose problems. Cost more to fix. And coems with a whole new assortment of bugs. Talk to anyone who used the MGX8850 and ask them their thoughts on it.
"Ironic side discussion... the only real difference between the VW 1.8T engines (150hp and 180hp anyway) is the ECU programming. I can "upgrade" my engine with a serial cable"
Not hardly it's an EEPROM and not a programmable ECU. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you'll need a EEPROM burner to upgrade....
I bought a computer I don't want, I want my money back. I'll take you to court. Wahhhhhhh....
What are you 5? The ambigious nature of the info you gave us does not make me feel sorry for you at all. In fact it makes you look like a crybaby. Oh well. So how do you like your mac? I love mine....
Crack smoker! The powerbook is still way ahead of the PC's. My 667 DVI Powerbook runs rings around the 2.4 Dell I have from work, it's just silly. And over half of the Win apps just about kill the whole system. I want a G5 laptop as much as the next guy, but the G4 is still the best game in town.
sucks. Tons of lag. I suggest good ol' CAT 5. Cheap. Get lot's of help from those who you're helping. Maybe a couple wireless AP's but make sure they're secure. IF you have access to the elevator shaft that is a good place to run the cable, usually a conduit for it as a matter of fact. Don't let the nay sayers bring you down, but consider good 'ol cable. It's a little harder to run but is a better deal in the longrun. Especially when gaming.
I don't know what police force your looking at, but around here the equipment is hardly specialized. It is commodity hardware, with some specialized software. And way overpriced, and slow to boot...
Way over priced... For $1300 I can buy (not build) at least 2 if not 3 significantly more powerful boxes. I can't figure their target market with this thing. Unless it's sill corporate purchasing agents with to much money, no sense, and think it's cute...

but I did run into it in the private sector. They didn't like the tattoos. Oh well I'm better off now.
What are you a grad student?
I work at a major university and get paid. Why would you work and not get paid, did you learn nothing form the dot.bomb?

Yep... the asshat didn't upgrade his RAM, bummer for him. I'll take it off of your hands...
Uhhhh.... the software is called xGrid..
http://www.apple.com/acg/xgrid/
I agree.. they will innovate and improve... over and over...
I'll sync your phone, transfer files, keyboard and mouse, basically anything bluetooth does...
They've already taken care of it... BTO are being upgraded...

Yeah and the French could have been the Thrid Reich had they taken Poland. Whatever. Why is this even news?
it was the L3 cash that made the 867 faster....

What were you doing when UT2003 came out?
