Given that they are building a giant data center on the Colombia River to take advantage of cheap (but not cheap on the environment) hydro power I propose the following new slogan something along the lines of the following:
"Download a movie (YouTube), kill a salmon."
Perhaps someone else could make it catchier, but you get the idea.
I don't care what nifty hardware products Microsoft comes up with. If they have to depend on Vista, then its going to be a while before they sell much of anything. The consumer is going to have Vista forces upon him when he buys his ordinary computer, decide it really sucks, and then will be unlikely to want to shell out big money for Microsoft hardware.
I would love to have MIT's course material available to study, but I know that if my feet aren't held to the fire, I tend to slack off. It would be cool for groups of people to get together to test one another as well on the material. Kind of Open Source Testing for lack of a better set of words. I also know that I get more self confidence and more of a sense of accomplishment when I do well on tests.
Spaceweather.com has linked to a number of predictions over the last year or so regarding the next solar cycle. What is left out is that no evidence has ever been given showing showing that any method has proven to be accurate in the past. I challenge anyone to find such data.
I bet if you look carefully at the psychologists promoting excessive internet use as an addiction, you will find ties to drug companies. Anything to increase sales and generate more profits. At best case its a jobs program for third rate psychologists and addictions counselors.
For the longest time, when my laptop wasn't being used, I would have it connected via serial port to my Medcom Geiger-Muller counter. I was trying to see if I could detect any spike in background radiation when a solar flare occurred. (the initial event is an X-ray burst that deionizes the ionosphere) I never did have the laptop on when one hit.

One that doesn't require two people working 60 hours per week to purchase. One that has a yard wider than 10ft. Really, does anybody other the wealthy even care about a high tech house?
Its all about money. One more unfunded mandate from the Federal Government.

Yes, but at least with Python you can read and understand the shit- and then fix it if need be.
Is going to need an awfully long cord, as well as a large supply of batteries.
At first I thought it said "Tasty Fawn"
UC Santa Cruz have achieved a 1/1000 slowdown of light by passing a beam through a cloud of marijuana smoke.
Seems anything used by the military would have to be resistant to EMP. Has anyone discussed that yet in relation to RFID?
UC Berkeley is not a private school. So much for that discussion.
Gee, how many languages now have been designed to replace FORTRAN? 10? 20? And its still due for replacement as of today!!
Seems like there was some sort of a race to see who could post the most FUD the fastest. Almost like the /. story was placed to achieve just that.
Well my computer is working awefully well for one running on an OS that is dying. And I haven't even CVSUPd from the prerelease to the release yet.
Say hello to Internet Radio {From anywhere in the world other than the US}

Wow, I need to cut down on my EtOh consumption. I thought it said "Howie Mandell Returns to Novell."
I just take pennies, melt them down, and then sell them for more pennies. Repeat process over and over. Become rich!!

That he tried to delete the evidence from his computer, but unfortunately he was using a journaling file system.

Boron was made superconducting by doping it with 90% silicon.

If you send the photons back through the apparatus in the opposite direction would their signaling to each other occur in the future?
