    7, sure, 14 no. Anyone who tried that shit with me when I was that age, was not only held out of the loop, but what ever measures they took were bypassed. I had physical access and was less than stupid. Mu linux + direct access to the router + mac spoofing = end around what ever you thought you were doing to prevent your kid from browsing porno or meeting a digital Buba. You would do far better just talking to your kids, and realizing that they aren't the stupid fragile things everyone thinks they are. Schools have a excuse, if they say something the parent disagrees with, they can be sued. YOU DONT. TALK TO YOUR FUCKING KIDS.

    I have a nokia candybar phone i got from metro pcs, which as far as I know is San Fran only. But its a good deal 50 dollars for unlimited everything, no contract. its about 5 dollars cheaper if you dont need unlimited sms. The only way it loses out is it isnt edge or 3g, but since you want "Just a Phone" you wont care.

    If that isnt available, you can buy a sim card nokia for about 20 dollars on ebay, and use it with at&t.

    God damnit man I thought this was a repost but its diffrent then the 120 other postings about your damn video store with the god damn chistian rock section.     Anything might be a bit strong, let me fix it. The money you save by not using (insert fad tech that the kids already know about here) will be paid ten fold down the road when the kids aren't getting education due to a never-available and always buggy infrastructure.
    The only time a book is buggy is when its a life science book!
    (look the whole computer in every classroom thing is bunk, computers as textbooks is well and good (especialy if it drives down the absurd cost of text books that are factualy no diffrent from the last 10 editions but are a new version to drive sales, the way schools have been using computers thus far is so far from how they should its terrifying)

    and let me tell you the straight couples who could have kids but take in foster kids arn't normal(not nessisarily in a bad way but not nessiarily in a good one). Not beaing allowed to go out with friends at 14 is not normal(I mean at all) having bi-weekly meetings with various social agentices is not normal. Finaly, having your parrents toss you out on your ass at a very young age isn't genraly considered normal.
    If there are no foster homes, you end up in whats called a residential(in MA). A residential is the bastard child of a threesome of a mental ward, a jail and a commune. If gay couples can take the kids out the system (say through guardian ship) while yess gay parrents is not normal it would be a fuck of a lot better than staying in the system.

    Look you cant export a house.
    A house is almost waste in terms of gdp. Houses make people happy. That is nearly the sole benifit. The Cheaper we can make a decent house the better. If we can make a house for 10k +the cost of land MORE HOUSES WILL BE BOUGHT. People who swung a hammer will now supervise the damn things building it or move to another job. I know, I know, you say they cant do anything else. Guess what! It takes quite a bit of brain power to be a good carpenter. I know how suits and geeks(too a much lesser degree) look down at the guy who works with his hands when offen the suit or geek would be just as lost trying to put up a wall as the carpenter would be compiling the kernel or the suit impressing other suits (you know thats almost their sole job, unless they are a bean couter or a tech they are there to make people like them and by extension the company they work for, not something a fat knuckled carpenter or a smelly geek could do)
