    this is step 2 in a very short list to impliment a very nasty lockout

    1 WGA (preinstalled on Vista btw)
    2 OGA
    3 MS(partners)GA
    4 forced updates both update programs will stop asking
    5 SP? of Vista wil enable tranparent encryption or other DRM for ALL DOCUMENTS
    6 if it is found that for any reason at all your business is blokcing MS from thier business you will find your computer in lockdown mode (kiss your data godbye unless DRM Jon has a crack)

    4 AutoPatcher.com CD --note this does have in the full version a bunch of tweaks/Utilities

    easy way to fix this kind of thing think triage. chances are (number pulled from ...) that 80% of your companies money is in 10% of your servers so you make sure that that 10% (and 40% of the unwashed masses) are on the working half.

    (of course you could have a crate with a few highly tuned low power use servers in a hidden room somewhere (just put a sign on the wall "In case of power failure break wall"))

    actually A is a violation but B is not (and in fact should be protected by it)

    The Trick is "officer of the ...." is how this gets hooked in (fed money runs the School so the fed calls the rules)

    no hes talking about the TPM chip that (if setup for this) scrambles the harddrive (and if you yank the drive its a no go unless you are a TLA org tamper with the chip and it does a MI trick)

    easy to fix (FSSVO "easy") you setup things so that swap is directed to its own partition and temp is redirected to c:\temp

    1 encrypt the profile directory (and the system wide copy)
    2 encrypt the temp directory
    3 encrypt swap
    4 audit the apps to find out any funky stuff
    5 profit !!!!

    not really since you can (and should in this case) have say 20 different machines and then pick three machines ( compare md5 sums) and then pick another 3 machines (compare sha hashes) then compare to your target machine.
    if you do this right then the chances of getting this wrong are about state lotto grade.

    the problem is if you have things setup so that you get paid a base wage/salary that is just about what it costs you to have the job but things are written so that you get some sort of "bonus" for.... The studios are simply rigging things so that the bonuses don't get paid.

    Umm the three or four stickers that referenced U3 and or included apps didn't clue you into the fact that the drive was not blank
    (personally i think they should have a way to U3 block a system say in the hardware programs key that says U3Enable= 0 (if it is not there treat as 2 0= disabled 1 = prompt 2 equals run) and on first plugin have a note in the about box referenceing the key.
