Clearly the problem isn't people illegally downloading music, it's developing a business model that works, is consumer-friendly, and profitable.
I honestly don't even remember the last time I downloaded a song/album illegally. Pandora and YouTube (Yes, I understand some of these videos are illegal) have been my gateways for the last 5+ years.
Yea, Munich has quite the security whenever I visit home.
Not all of them do though. Iceland is pretty relaxed, and they are ramping up flights to and from the States.
However, this is pure ridiculousness. I absolutely hate traveling home, I'm going to hate it even more now and I'm an American. I can't imagine how many foreigners just won't even bother anymore.
I'm not even sure I want to bring my hard drives for work any more. I encrypt them of course, but just the thought of an image they could spend limitless resources trying to break, for god knows what reason, I think I'll just keep stationary hard drives and find a more private and secure cloud service.
"considered themselves a professional developer"... "with 17.5% using both"
wtf? a professional developer uses both? really?
if and when i find a file that has mixed spaces / tabs, not only that, but 3 spaces instead of 4 then a tab for the fourth character. I slap that dev so fast the dev will try to rewrite git history.
"The last one, in June 2014, was the first success since 2008. The system is nine for 17 since 1999 with other types of target missiles"
That really isn't that reassuring...
If I told my boss that the system I designed to stop us from going belly-up has ~50% success rate, I'm pretty sure he would fire me, or at the very least, order more tests until the success rate is just a bit more acceptable...
air marshals and local cops are replaced by robots who know exactly how to much to beat you and drag you off without breaking bones or leaving permanent damage.
"as it works to boost profits and its sliding stock price,"
Ugh... why can't businesses go back to the model of taking care of their employees and figuring out how to build better products to increase profits and their stock instead of always going for the short-term solution of axing payroll....
Is this what will lead to me being able to wave my hand from the monitor to the tv and have my app follow me? If so, ok, good job M$, I like that... but only that.
I don't buy it.... For Windows 10 S to "succeed", they need a high sales number. A high sales number translates to the people at the top that their product is good and people want it, which means they make more of it, and develop future products similar to it.
Windows 10 S is not good. Wanting Windows 10 S to succeed is saying that you want more of Windows 10 S type products in the future.
No. I do not want more walled gardens. No, I do not want Windows 10 S to succeed.
My boss gives me the freedom to handle clients as needed. He requests being kept in the loop for some of the more wealthy clients, but honestly I cc him most email correspondence.
CC'ing my boss ensures that my boss sees the ridiculousness from clients I have to deal with everyday.
What chip manufacturer is trustworthy?
Have you never played golf?
90% of golf is drinking and fucking with the golf cart.
As scummy as this company was, most of the employees were regular people who did nothing wrong.
Except "follow orders". I swear there is a historical reference for this type of defense...
We really need to get out of this mentality that a company or corporation is "someone", or anyone, besides the people who run it/work for it.

This will be great for my wife. Not so great for my wallet.
I think that's the point
"select your fake death and fake new history from a menu."
Cookie-cutter is how it's obvious...
I've been waiting for this tech to get into the ID biz
^ This.

Ohh, you and your charset are so edgy.

No need to say more.
Also, when I read 'Electron' in the title, I figured the author meant some new type of engine.
But When You Capitalize Every Word In A Sentence, It Makes It Really Hard To Figure Out What You Mean!
"New Zealand joins Space Race with successful launch of lightweight 'Electron' rocket."
Now that tells me you were just referring to the name of the rocket and not some new type of engine.
Please let's spin this as "the first human to touch the sun", so we can convince Trump's ego to make him go first...

Proof-reading isn't magic, but trying to comprehend the beginning of that comment was...
Anyways, I'm in total agreement, I'm honestly surprised that it isn't already the case.

I would imagine, once fully encapsulated, solar wind will be the least of your concerns.
Asteroids, comets, whatever the fuck happens when you bottle up a star in terms of heat, radiation, and eventual collapse.
"or, at worst, during my second term" ... Please... No...
There's one way to get Trumps attention.
Put it in terms of China.
Trump, if we don't fund science, China will be #1 in RD
Trump, if we don't fund NASA, China will own the Moon!
JavaScript, then PHP, SQL, then python, then C++
