I've tried Menuet in the past. The only thing that would keep it from being great is that every program can access all the memory available to the system. This means one bad app can crash the system (Win3.1 anyone?). Maybe that has changed in recent months though.
How do you become a seed if you just find a torrent file like this one? I usually leave my client open for about 3 hours after I've finished the download so that others can grab it, but if it helps to become a seed I'll do that.
I second this opinion. The grandparent must have bought or used some really shitty LCD. I have a NEC 17" that I use for gaming, movies, etc. I've had up to four people sitting around it, and we don't have to crowd close because the viewing angle is so wide.
P.S.: DISCLAIMERS: I'm a Debian (l)user, and ex-BSD-zealot(still have a few BSD boxes around), and over time I have got really tired of solving the problems of clueless Gentoo (l)users in IRC, not to mention listening to their stupid rants about how 'optimized' their distro is, while they can't even use vi to edit a fucking file.
Heh. I used LFS and Slackware for quite a while, then tried out Gentoo. I really like it, but why the hell isn't vi included in the base install? Nano? NANO!?
I'm using Gentoo on all my systems, but after I do an emerge world, the next step is emerge vim:)
On another note, if you're going to use Gentoo, you should try LFS first so that Gentoo seems easier:)
While I'm sure OS X is great for a lot of things (I'd love to try it out, but I'm too poor;) ), it lacks games. I can play Half-Life/CS, GTA:Vice City, and I hear that Morrowind is working now. Can a Mac user play CS? You might get a CS'er to try Linux, but forget about another hardware platform.
Incidentally, my definition of an operating system is "a system that lets me play Half-Life." Once WineX worked with Half-Life, I stopped dual booting and went 100% linux:)
"WinCE" is the name of the Microsoft's real-time, embedded OS. "PocketPC" is the name of WinCE 3 with all the userland apps like a media player, ebook reader, pocket word, etc. I don't know what the hell "Windows Mobile" or whatever is. I just call it all CE:)
And for all the people who bitch about MS and IE, who cares if your site can't be viewed in a buggy browser? You all use Linux with Mozilla anyway, right?

Yes, the clarity of the complete silence is amazing!
Why can't you just put in a bogus email address?

Yes. The press release states that mandrake will be available on ONE MODEL initially, on JULY 7TH.
As long as we have Gimli from LotR running around yelling "Indy! I bought camels!" it'll be good.
How do you get the cursor to not move? I almost sent my wireless mouse flying off the desk trying to get this to work :)
It's true.

Old guy: Irregardless isn't even a word!
Teen: Yes it is. It means "without lack of regard"

You mean they're shutting down Hotmail?

I agree. I can't wait to use a slower toolkit like .NET on a handheld. Troll me if you want, but I use WinCE/VS/VS.NET for a living, and it's true.
I keep reading something about ADH...whatever. Oh look! String!
Ohoh. But businesses buy $299 XP Pro. 299+342 is *gasp* 641. For ONE computer!
I'm not sure who's reading what, but the price is for 5 clients. One copy of Windows XP Pro costs $300!
Tried sticky tack? It's good for light objects like posters and pictures, and comes off easily.
Do you think maybe that's why he has a website, so he can show it to everyone?

But you can't get better performance out of a LiveCD, because they're not tuned like an actual install to YOUR hardware.
I used to use LFS, and "reLFSing" is the main problem I had with it. It was a great learning experience, but now I'm using Gentoo for day to day use.
