offshore
adj 1: (of winds) coming from the land; "offshore winds" [ant: inshore]
2: at some distance from the shore; "offshore oil reserves";
"an offshore island"
adv : away from shore; away from land; "cruising three miles
offshore" [ant: onshore]
You might wanna try Gothic 2. It has the same level of interactivity. You draw a weapon in front of a guy, and he says "hey calm down", you put it away, he replies "that wasn't so hard, was it"? It is this kind of additions that make games immersive.
Since the CPUs are getting better, the simulation is given more time nowadays. But I feel that abstraction like OO and such is taking away much of the potential. See games like Populous to see what a simple amiga could simulate.

Not true. Software change over time. When they exit school the windows software has already changed a lot.
Applicationspecific learning does not yield any exceptionally good students. Also, the software range is much larger for linux, and in addition it has more fun software which they can try out.
If you wanna try out random software in windows, you're subjected to a lot of crappy software. Eg. are there any good free astronomy programs for windows? And are they just as freely available?:)
My reason to go against this, is that I do not trust this technology to capitalistic organisations which will do everything they can do to prove that their technology is unharmful. I thought there has been enough such cases of research that has gone horribly wrong.
Monsanta and killer bees to start, but I cannot confirm if these are myths or not.

Most moms got windows preinstalled. Anyway, any new user leads to a larger market and interest in Linux. So, its actually just like making people you know join a club. Even if they didn't come completely by themselves, they DO make the club larger. Also, new users lead to demand for programs that linux may miss, eg. as one noted, a greeting-card maker.
So, even if the way may be wrong, the outcome is good. So, first mom, then your moms friend. Then you start up a company installing and supporting linux, preferably hooked up with som DSL-provider;)
It is possible to stream data directly from the DVD-Drive, because it doesn't issue silly IRQs or other sillyness. Keeping hundreds of megs of data in memory is just lazyness; the processor is not going to use all that data for each frame, or even each minute. Lazyness, because you can use virtual memory instead of doing your own cacher:> But, yeah, PS2 games have kept hundreds of megs of game data in memory: READ ONLY MEMORY! (Sorry!)
And large amounts of data is exactly what the ps2 is good at; especially generating it.
I would like to remind you that FUD tactics has to be applied against all readers. Oh, and most important, the writer has to fool himself, believe in the junk he writes. You obviously don't since you seem to think every packet from a linux machine is a threat.
This is news in progress, but its the most disturbing piece I've read the last years. It's a long piece about a man suing coca-cola, and how far Coca-Cola is willing to go in a copyright-case. It's all here: CIA, corrupt judges, and missing documents; and it isn't even cranky.
Well, bit off-topic; but I recall PGP being as protected as a newspaper when it was published as a book; and thus it was allowed to export it, since it was regarded as "free speech".
So, this is probably a work-around. Well, that wouldn't matter if it's illegal bits'n'bytes.
AFAIK, everything in USA which can be used in a harmful way, such as lighters, bats etc. wears warnings.
Well, I've noticed that toy-guns designed to shoot small (hard) rubberballs actually wear a warning which tell:
'Do not shoot at human or animals'.
Now, tell me, why doesn't the guns wear such warnings?
Their 3d-engine implements many methods, which have been available in years; and this code can give us a peek on how it can be done. I don't think anyone loses on this bet.:) I liked his (bullfrog-guy) comment on the req. this game needs; for perfect performance it needs a way past 10gHz because of adaptive 3d.
Always available, always LOD, but really; how can you do it consistent? This will be one of the few games i'll ever buy; and i'm looking forward for the linux-implementation
A such issue would help the people over at the Humane Genome Project, as they are bothered by companies who work out new patents based on their material. This is not fair. You know the stuff.
I can remember two animation series, called "Droids" and "Ewoks", released sometime in the 80s. About three videos in each series, as I can remember. In Droids there was a ugly yellow C3PO-"clone", who had a completely different personality. Besides that I really was dissapointed by the whole thing, because it looked more like He-Man than anything else. I'm not sure if they have anything to do with star-wars except the settings.
A tablet with multi touch would be the best platform for making music ever.

Because EVERYONE have an opinion on this.

Most modern phones has this system, and works by using a dictionary (which you update every time you miss).

Only me who noticed that should it should read "American spy plane incident" eh?
Or has this case turned an 180 degrees which I haven't noticed?
The IWC has banned all whaling. But Norway uses its right to set national limits. These limits follow the rules set by IWC.

Hey, I found a online book here (Secret Signals) with loads of information, dechiffered messages and so on.
