  1. I suspect a lens made entirely of sapphire glass would have pretty shitty optics. Using it as a cover would allow improved scratch protection and retain acceptable optical properties. Not much different than putting a lens protector over a camera lens. What's the problem?

    I read somewhere that there was no contract but rather Akamai was providing the service pro-bono.

    If that's the case, and it was starting to impact paying customers, it's an understandable move.

    Pretty neat idea but in every air-gapped environment I've worked in, getting the cellphone or recording device in would be the more difficult portion of this exercise.

    If it's reflective of the content being indexed, the only way to "correct this bias" is to add bias.

    You can't keep arguing for equality while at the same time highlighting differences.

    So why is someone plugging a USB drive with FIREFOX into an "air gapped" computer?

    Seriously. If security is that important that you air-gap a system, why aren't you locking down the USB ports?

    Developing a, super secure, file based Intranet?

  19. I feel for the guy. My Dad was an engineer on the Aerojet 260 project. They felt, all along, the segmented approach was unsafe. It was just that NASA and USAF never agreed. Still have a bunch of photos and some news clippings. So Thiokol got the bid and my Dad's work on the largest rocket motor ever fired is just one for the history books.

    There is no reason to use Apple Pay until it can have the same reach as cash or plastic.

    Except if the retailer accepts it, it's safer than swiping your card.
