    Maybe they know that the Federal government is already bankrupt and that Medicare for all would rapidly speed the realization of that truth to the point where even the most out of touch individual in America would realize it.

    Arguing the pros and cons of Medicare for all is irrelevant. There is no way to pay for it. It is just like UBI.

    They should ask
    Are you willing to give up 1/2 of your standard of living, 1/2 of your income, downsize everything about your life by 1/2 in order to combat Climate Change?

    It is always easy to say yes I am really concerned about issue X. When only others will be affected by doing anything to solve the issue.

    about my DNA information, except maybe if it is something medical. Have always looked on these DNA services as useless scams.
    I can't help but think of Bill Murry in the movie Stripes! Something about we are Americans, were Mutts. Our forefathers got kicked out of every decent country in Europe. Well something l;ike that it was many years ago.
    But that memory has always stayed with me.

    On a side note one of these services has a commercial on TV that I think is idiotic. It has this smug woman talking about how she travels all over the world. And people are always asking what her nationality is? And she says, I used to say I was Latino, Now after getting my DNA checked I realize I am everything!
    I sit back in my chair and shake my head. They asked her what her nationality is! Not what her ethnicity is! Seems to me a non idiot would say I'm American. But hey what do I know.

    everything in the cloud "cloud service MEGA" in this case, that you did not personally securely encrypt before hand. Is just your raw data in someone else's hands. And the security of that information is just based on your trust of them.
    Now if your good with that OK, Great, you are aware of the risks and have made a judgement on them.
    But if not you need to rethink using the cloud for that use in the first place.

    regulate something. Always have studies saying "Everyone wants and agrees that X should be regulated" IE Controlled by government!
    So the "Center for the Governance of AI" says Americans want AI regulated.
    What a crock, most Americans are trying to figure out how to play some game on their phone or get their Alexa, etc to do something that will be fun for about 5 minutes. And they are often not able to figure it out.

    else's hands that is not fully encrypted by you before hand. Is monitored, reviewed, accessed and data mined by said company/anyone willing to pay said company for special access.
    The collecting and selling access to all said information is a revenue stream for all of these companies. That is why they are in business and what they do to make money, It is all about making money!
    If you use these devices, these sites or their services you must just accept it.
    If this bothers you, your only option that works is to not use their services/products, period!

    boarder crossings are up actually,. 20k+ children!! crossed our "secure" southern boarder in Dec 2018 alone. Who knows how many did not turn themselves over to boarder patrol to get processed and released only to disappear in to America.

    back in 2003, logged in and started looking at things. The steps to get your account setup and the information they wanted caught me off guard.I did not see any reason to provide that kind of information about me and my business.
    Logged off to think it over and just never went back. Did log back in to my account today. Still there just like I left it. Except there were a bunch of new features about sharing, etc I decided to turn off.
    I did notice the links to sign up for LinkedIn premium, at a premium of course ;)

    So they blamed employees huh! My bill went up by 20 dollars about a year ago. And it was printed right on my bill that my bill was going up by X amount (approx $20) because of mandatory broadcast payment fees.
    So I sure don't see how this could be spun as an employee training issue.

    Tax refund? Uncle Guido visits me 11 or so times a year Fed, State, Local and the only purpose is to go through the till and take their fair share, pretty much everything plus what I can borrow. Then push me around and say I had better have more next time.

    Oooo part of the government is shutdown ;) Darn! lol Woot! In fact I don't feel sorry for anyone not working. Since they will all get paid in the end even though they did not have to show up for work.

    UBI will not affect the ruling class nor the ultra rich. The true outcome will be to take everyone else (the 70% who support it, minus the ruling class and the ultra rich who do), seize/sell their assets, divide the money evenly after those in power take a very healthy cut.

    The result will be the masses living at a universal level of poverty.

    And after the last election we are on our way. Enjoy! Remember America is already belly up bankrupt, the government has just been able to hide that fact for the most part. But I think it will all come to a head in the next 10 years, plus or minus 5.

    Upstate New York is beautiful, I was stationed there while in the Air Force and I would live in upstate New York in a second, if the state was not run by and for New York City only.
    The rest of the state is just a hostage of New York City.

    it is tough to make a decent living. You could not pay me to move to places like California, Florida, Oregon, New York or Washington State or DC. Heck I would be more likely to go to Detroit. Even if you do make 6 figures your working poor. 3-4k for an apartment, horrific taxes, crime, crowds, etc? But then people have made their choices so i guess they have to live with them.
    Protesting to get help from the government will never be able to do anything except create more misery and expecting help which at best will be temporary from big tech is foolish. As is saying oh I have to live here i don't have a choice.
    The moment you don't think your choices matter, your situation is the fault of others, can only be fixed by others is a huge trap.
    I know many hate to hear it but Independence, Personal Responsibility, Work Ethic are the only ways out of the trap these individuals are in.
    I know no one wants to hear that but it is the truth. And I am not rich, this year is the first year I have even come close to making 6 figures.
