Virtual commercial actresses were the focus of the movie Looker, 1981. Not really a stretch to imagine virtual pop stars coming out of the labs in that movie.
I just don't understand why everyone keeps buying iPhones and iPads if they don't do what they want. By purchasing them, you are basically telling Apple and AT&T that you are happy with their products and service. If they don't do what you want, don't purchase them and purchase something that does.
But with Apple's capricious policy on approving and denying apps, I never really know if the phone that does what I want today won't do it tomorrow. So, what, I buy a phone and hope for the best? I guess that's the only reasonable approach when considering an iPhone.
Salespeople are sometimes the most informed people in a company. They know lots of people, talk to lots of people, and get the inside scoop pretty often. This one might play squash with the VP of something, or golf with the IT guys. You just don't know, but it's very possible.
If they're going to use any version of Civilization in the classroom, I would much rather they use the original version from Avalon Hill (well, Hartland Trefoil, really) and designed by Sid Sackson over that game by Sid Meiers. The former is much more reliant on efficiency and diplomacy, while the latter rewards combat and warfare over all else.
The difference is one of scrutiny. Large corporations have layers and layers of government hoops to jump through, whereas the mafia generally has noone to answer to, no quarterly reports to write.
When I built my house, I wired every room with about 500 yards of CAT-5 into a 110 block in the basement. 6 months after we moved in, I bought a wireless router. Doh.
Have you ever kissed a girl?

spinning this as anything other than an important bug fix is downright irresponsible.
You must be new here.

I'm sure he'll know it when he sees it.

Noone watches that channel in my house anyway.

If you're a person in a bad relationship, you usually dont have to pay an ETF to get away.
Those are Harvey Korman's lines?
...how different is that to pulling the fire alarm, or jamming the lifts in a skyscraper?
Skyscrapers have lifts? Aren't they tall enough already?
(E.g. What happens if someone locks a record and then is hit by a bus?)
Well, the first thing that happens is the company investigates why there was a bus in their call center.

As it is, they're probably not either -- probably simply being repurposed.
Or thrown into the trash compactor.

Has noone tried to reverse engineer the codes?

When exactly was this patient alive, doctor?
And then have a hot lunch afterward.
For really fast reading, I recommend using a user style sheet, and disabling all author styles and images/flash.
But what if I like to read about entertainment/fashion? 90% of the news IS the pictures.
