He was on NPR today talking about this and how he's applying the underwater technology to his new hollywood style movie which'll feature an all CG main character....I'm hoping it's better than Jar Jar.
He also mentioned this underwater movie is in 3D, and I hope it comes to my town.
There seems to be an awful lot of articles on robots lately. I'm beginning to worry the slashdot offices were taken over by shotgun wielding robots who have just gained underwater capabilities. Due to the robots iron grasp, this is the only way the editors can commmunicate to us their need for help against them.
At the EBgames I work at we have around 10 or so big boxes with Halo 2 and the strategy guides.....so it's no surprise people are selling it early. It's tempting as hell to take one home.
Each of the shrink-wrapped game cases has a sticker....under the shrink-wrap, that says "DO NOT SELL UNTIL 11/9/04." I've never seen a game this hyped or this heavily protected. Hope you all pre-ordered.
I might be crazy, but I have a theory where game companies consoles have the most success with their 2nd system and begin puttering out with the 3rd system...
1. NES...Good system...great seller 2. SNES...Best system of all time 3. N64...UH-Oh, not a bad system, but Uh-OH
We're now soon approaching the PS3, which I think may follow in the footsteps of the N64, which was a decent system, but nowhere close to the success of PS1 or even SNES. Therefore, I predict Xbox2 will emerge as the new "PS2" and we'll enter Pax Microsoftana for a while until X3 or whatever we call it. Same can be applied to portables....GBA is amazing, but will the DS, or 3rd entry into the fray be successful? Following my arbitrary model, then no, although I'm hoping it is.
I'm in total agreement with you. Tomorrow I'm voting for myself. Everyone thinks I'm a lunatic and is "You're vote is too important for you to waste it like that." But I think that only proves my point.
I agree, I've never seen a fruitful discussion on the politics section either. I think most people don't ever read any comments either. I understand there's big issues this year and I understand a polictics section sounded like a good idea, but it hasn't seemed to translate as well as I, or others thought. Something needs to be done....maybe only white male landowners or something can comment....I'm only kidding so don't mod me down for that.
I just hate to read the politics section because I learn nothing, and gain no insight. I love the rest of/. though.
I think we're all smart enough to understand it's to make a profit, and that's not why this is big news. It's big news because of Capom's announcement to keep the RE series Gamecube exclusive will no longer be honored. It's also a slap in Nintendo's face for their promise of the "Fantastic Five" which were slated to be Cube exclusives.
The article had very little positive things to say about either side, it's almost as if the author worked on the N-Gage and was bitter...
Nintendo has said they want the DS to be a third pillar in gaming, with GCube and GBA as the other two. And the holy trinity series makes sense, or at least helps to explain they're not trying to do away with the GBA.
The PSP on the other hand has been pushed back a year....11/05 so Sony can work on the battery life. Perhaps the market will be ready then.
I'm not trying to come off as flamebait, but here it goes....
I really don't care if such a thing as a professional musician is part of my society. I feel if there's a band that is going to be hurt by file-sharing, then they need day jobs as well. If you're a good enough musician, then live performances should get you through the tough times. Writing "Stacy's Mom" should never be anyones main source of income.
It's kind of like upgrading your video card for Doom 3. Consoles cost about the same a new one, but for some reason seem a lot more. I'd buy a console for one game for the same reason I'd buy a video card for one game.
I agree with you about the game store thing, it's impossible to walk in the store without being asked to put 5 bucks down on some game.
Hey, just as long as you don't use words like "Freedom" "Paper" or "hongzhi" http://journalism.berkeley.edu/projects/chinadn/en/archives/002885.html you'll be able to safely travel the Might and Magic online world in China.
Oh man am I mad......seriously. Rainbow Six 3 is the absolute best game on Xbox live. I'd say it's one of the best games I've played in years. When Black Arrow came out it was seen as an expansion. It cost $40 instead of the regular 50 and they weren't reinventing the wheel as far as graphics or gameplay were concerned. Black Arrow added clans through the game itself instead of having to go through an outside site like teamcompete.
Sadly, Black Arrow has felt like a failure to me, the maps aren't as fun and the clan portion of it is just silly and creates an unbalanced dynamic that wasn't as heavy in the first RS3. I see it as such a disappointment that I've stopped playing Black Arrow altogether and gone back into RS3 despite it's glitches...lean walking, grenade tricks, etc...I've noticed a lot people I play against were let down with Black Arrow as well.
To be a little more on topic, the $5 for a few maps reinforces my belief that Black Arrow doesn't share the same fun factor as the previous iteration. If they offered the first RS3 maps, unaltered, for download for $5, then I might consider it. But in the meantime I'm gonna put that $5 on a preorder of Halo 2, and I suggest you do the same.

Justin B in my first grade said the same thing...I swear...Lenexa
WOOOOOOOO.....Kansas City!!!!! Uh, that's where I live, so I gotta give a "props" post.
I work at EB, and we got it thursday. We've been told to tell no one we have it....oops. And a manager has supposedly been fired over it.

no, I think preordering is overrated as well...I'm not on some pre-order high horse.....I just want to make sure everyone who wants one gets one

Fuck the shuttle, we need to send The Homeboys

I've actually wondered that myself....and I do know what you're talking about
.....Yes, everybody in Japan already owns and Xbox. Also, everyone in Japan is on a Red "Godzilla" alert.
Actually, I read it like that at first too...wanna hook up?
They've never said that, in fact the plan is to release Halo 3 the same day as the PS3 for obvious reasons.
Weird, I didn't know the movie used to be in german.

FF III is the best game ever made. I love you.
In the ads I remember some guy dressed up as Link walking around in the dark screaming "Zelda!!" Does anyone know a link to watch these at?

I remember seeing it. I think they traced it back to a small village who, to this day, still carry the genes to make them immune to the black plague.
