I actually wished I HAD NOT read the novel before seeing the movie. I "liked it alot" years ago when I read it but it failed to draw my emotions out. Watching the movie was very stirring for me. I don't know if it was the music or the sets or secret Ackerman pheromone projectors, but it brought back bunches of strong memories of fearing nuclear war, hating Nixon, and desiring to go to Studio 54.
EDS handles my social security information as a contractor for the gubmint every day and I wouldn't let them do it if it weren't for that cute "herding cats" commercial. I won't trust Google until they do something equally quaint... with cats.
Everyone knows that empty buses are constantly creating and destroying virtual passengers. You obviously were asleep in class the day they covered Kramden diagrams.
The honest truth is even if current games had a story arc with a planned ending, only a very small percentage of players would experience it. For the majority of the players the last chapter is entitled "TRAIN TO ZONE" or "PK SPAWN CAMP" or "CRAFTED TO DEATH".

I chose LinkedIn to be my employment oriented networking site because nobody there cares what half-assed band you like.
There are times when the phrase "Absolutely, totally, gobsmackingly, mindbogglingly amazed" just doesn't cover it, but I find that in the Queen's New Year Honours list I am now a Knight, for services to literature. This means that fans, while not calling me Sir, must now refrain from throwing things. Regrettably, no sword is included in the box:)
What more can a modest Knight say?
Happy New Year, which on Discworld is the Year of the Pensive Hare.
PS - We have had about twenty film crews through the office today and so you should be able to catch some footage on one channel or another.

As I will be able to recall many years hence, MemoryShop 2.1 CS Xtreme will have been doing this for a long time now... or so my wife, Morgan Fairchild, assures me.
My wife, my son, and I all play MMOs. Discounting the cost of computers and the net connection, I spend $45/month for hundreds of hours of absorbing entertainment. This leaves significant dollars left over to improve our quality of life.
Sure I like to get out once in a while, but at my family's socio-economic class, reality is highly overrated.

Thank you for turning emotionally scarring events in your life into /. humor. We can hardly wait to see what you will post when the topic is sex. ;)
Your concise summary is exactly why I refuse to use Steam or any service like it.
How many punchcards would it take to load Vista on an old IBM360? The mind boggles...

Apparently the city of SF is having a wee bit of a problem understanding exactly what a network admin does. I read TFA, the guy sounds sane.
Slashdot has really made me learn to hate CSS. (or bad CSS programmers)
Simple Design + Low Bandwidth + No Icons + No Boxes + Large Browser Font

get a narrow

and a ton of

whitespace.
I'm DOS and get OFF MY LAWN you DAMN KIDS!
Aha! Now I get it! The people who float up to the sky during the rapture are really being eaten by a peripatetic black hole passing overhead.
GO HOLE!!!

The Blue Screen of Death... that really results in... death!
Sorry to hear about your puppy, dude.
The mind control games will be fun, but most people will get turned off by the pulsing vein in the forehead and the constant nose bleeds.
Once again it's nice to see /.ers have a firm grasp of the situation.
He needs to clarify his position. If I were advising him I would insist that he reject and denounce VB.
