Why should they have to suddenly at some arbitrary date no longer be able to exploit their intellectual property?
They can continue to use their IP! They just won't be the only ones who can.
It's like building a house and after 95 years of owning your house it suddenly becomes a historical landmark and you're evicted by the county. WTF? Wouldn't YOU be a little pissed off at getting kicked out of your house and having tourists romp around it?
Yes I would be pissed...but I would not be pissed if after 95 years the floorplan of my house was duplicated by someone else. I certainly would not expect payment for it.
Til Nordmenn: Fordi jeg er ikke en nordmenn rettelse alt at er feil:)
For those that aren't up on Norwegian linguistics, (not that I am a scholar or anything;)) Norway has two languages that are almost identical: Bokmaal and Nynorsk. The first is practically a clone of Danish. Nynorsk rose from Norwegian Nationalism and Ivar Aasen when they received independence from Sweden in the early 20th century. It is like someone made a language out of English dialects. It is supposed to be closer to what Vikings spoke (though Icelandic would be a better representation). Most Norwegians write in Bokmaal but the Nynorsk contingent is very adamant about official and equal representation of their brand of Norwegian.
What is ironic is most of the words are exactly the same or so similar that anyone who is proficient can read both. A few examples follow:
Norge Noreg Jeg Eg
It is important because both languages are treated equally, but it is mostly irrelevant because they are so similar.
He didn't say there are always jobs for smart people in Silicon Valley!
There are usually jobs available, they just might not be what you want to do or for what amount you want to get. If you can't get a job, try starting a buisness (it is always the best time to start since you don't have anything to lose!)
Mod parent insightful. I believe when Kamen first came out with the designs for Segway, the first peekers, admittedly according to rumor, saw a future version that hovered. Now that the traditionally problematic stablization has been addressed.
For christmas this year our family spent the money we would have on gifts for ourselves and bought toys for poor kids in an innercity school.
This perfect to do when there are no little ones in the family (our youngest is 18) and there is nothing like seeing little kids get wide-eyed over a toy.
You have never seen a Star Wars movie?!?! I am sorry this is off topic, but please, do yourself a favor and give yourself, or at least your kids a great christmas present and check out the pentology.
One time, when I was about 10 years old, a neighbor was giving my sister and I presents and we were giving her daughters presents. We gave them a doll and something else that I can't remember. The two of us got a pencil, not a mechanical pencil, just a plain #2 purple pencil with a ribbon tied to it.
Wow!
Granted I was young that the time, but that bobble head doll is looking pretty good!
I am "bothering" to learn Norwegian because of three things:
1. The language itself is cool 2. Norwegian Girls 3. Norwegian Scenery
I visited Norway about three years ago and was very impressed. Since then, I have been learning Norwegian because I would like to spend a semester studying there.
I know that you all speak English (very well, I might add) but if you visit for any length of time, it is only polite to make an attempt to snakke litt norsk.
I have also heard there is no greater compliment to a person of another country than a foreigner attempting to speak their language:)
Gratulerer means congratulations in Norwegian, so I suggest that we wish Jon a hearty "Gratulerer".

He's not no CA resident eh?

The reason why it is not considered part of Scandinavian is two fold:
1. The language is not Nordic
2. Finns have an eastern european background.
Which is why Iceland is sometimes part of Scandinavia despite it being far removed...

Dra Til Helvete Spraaknazier!

What does STFU mean? A google search only yields results that say "What does STFU mean?"

How is that funny? I actually do read Dagbladet.no almost every day.

and 1=2 by:
divide by a-b
a=b
a^2=ba
a^2-b^2=ba-b^2
(a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b)
a+b=b
b+b=b
2b=1b
2=1

I also have never known a slashdotter to read an article that they have an opinion on. Wisdom takes time, ignorance is immediate!
Which is something I think Calvin and Hobbes, or Dilbert, or Foxtrot or some other comic strip came up with...I am going to go with Calvin and Hobbes

Not all of Dagbladet's unique visitors are Norwegian ;) Like me...
Jeg les Dagbladet hver dag og jeg er ikke fra Norge og jeg er ikke Norsk.
