I love it, all this effort to change the name, yet the downloadable files still have the name "gaim" in them. Personally, if you are going to change the name of your project, then go all the way, don't go half-baked.
So let me get this right, they install something for you that is solar powered and generates power for you. They install it for free, but that catch is that you end up paying them forever for every bit of power that you use? How is that better than installing your own Solar array on your roof or property and generating your own power and using it...... for free!!! They say that your own installed Solar power system pays for itself within several years. Personally, that sounds GREAT to me and much better than being tied to paying somone for the rest of my life for power.
Also, as everyone says, Amway type pyramid schemes STINK!!! and are absolutely no good. Nice try though, some of us actually know how to think things through.:-)
I fully agree with X0563511, you are completely closed minded. Of course, being that way you join the crowd of closed minded people (better known as blind followers) that organizations look for to use their proprietary, closed-source products and not complain, just take what is given to you.
There are many audio formats and each is good in its own right. If anyone here should be scolded its Apple for forcing everyone onto its format. How long did it take for them to finally support the mp3 format, which was WAY MORE widely used than their AAC format.
The thing is, people do care about Ogg Vorbis, or they wouldn't support it. Yes, the Ogg format is mentioned a lot here on Slashdot, but why not? Its open soure and/.'ers LOVE open soure.
In case you are wondering, yes, I do own an iPod and yes, I am seriously considering Rockbox because of its support for so many different formats. Its nice to know that I can have a diverse jukebox and don't have to worry about the format of the files I put on my iPod.
I know that I am feeding the trolls but I just had to get that out. Now go back under your bridge.

So, considering that it has already previously been noted that the RIAA is not actually hurting, but instead still turning a health profit, are studies like this bogus POS what they are spending the money from their "lawsuits" on?
This tells me they might have just enough platinum and gold plated porches.
I fully agree that Gmail does not have to match hotmail. Their interface is superior to hotmail's. All M$ is doing is giving me more storage for the spam that I have sent to my hotmail email account. I for one, have really fell in love with the Gmail interface and believe that Google has done a great job on it.
Now, if anyone has seen the show "Myth-Busters" on the Discovery channel, they covered this topic early on. The conclusion they came to is that the 'MYTH' of magnets erasing your magnetic strip, is just that..... A MYTH!!! In fact, they put their cards through an extremely strong magnetic field and all information remained. They even proved the 'electric eel' wallet doing it was also a myth. So this would be classified as --> BS!!!
Children, we must remember not to type with the CAPSLOCK on. Oh, and also, play nice and kindly expand your vocabulary beyond the work 'FUCK'. It makes other think that your are about 12 and just learned the word. Kind of infantile if you ask me, so grow up.
It is simply amazing how 'nitpicky' people can really get. Sueing Google over a search result. They should be happy that they are at least first on the list. If you search on msn.com, they are 13th, with their competitors listed first. Of course Yahoo and Lycos list them like google does, first on the list, while Excite has them at #6. Are the folks at Axa planning on filing suit against these other search engines as well? I think google gave them an excellent spot at the top of their search food chain for the criteria.
I certainly hope the folks at Google read this and use the other search engine results in their defense.
The linked article is actually refering to the Ultra 5 and not the Sparc 5 as hinted by the title of the/. article. Personally, I prefer a sun machine without all the IDE. Call me old fashioned.
So, with Sco now wanting to provide users with a "license to use Linux", has anyone had a chance to look into the GPL for any possible conflicts or violations surrounding this?
One thing I have always thought AIM should do is incorporate into itself a system like ICQ has, where you can leave offline messages for friends. I wonder if, with this bridging, that is in the works or not?!?
It would be interesting if the information made it overseas. So, has anyone thought of the fact that it essentially already is? If someone reads/., all they have to do is follow the link above to the mirror site that has this beauteous info.:)
Let see, you are worried about this system because your parents have the ability to check and see what homework you have that night. Riddle me this, if you do your home work (which I gather you don't from your upset comment), then what would you have to worry about?
Let me see, spammers take all the emails they can get and send millions of spam messages a day to all of those email addresses. Now that people are finding out who they are, they are mad because THEIR information is now public. If they are not wanting stuff like this to happen, they should STOP SPAMMING the rest of us. I think it was an excellent idea by Francis Ui to post this guys information. So, where can we find the website with this guys info?
Ok, and let me guess. When teaching these students about secure programming, are they planning on using windows as an example of what NOT to do?
If you ask me, they are the last people that should be teaching about how to write secure code. If that is what you are after, talk to a *nix developer.
I cannot see how this is ever going to turn out good for the consumer. This will enable the makers of printers to almost charge whatever they want for their cartridges.
I must admit that when I purchase a game, I expect to only pay once for it. I just can not see paying for something over and over. That is the main reason I don't like Everquest.
This is great that the National DNC List has been approved, but I have a question that I have yet to find an answer to.
#1. As everyone knows, not all telemarketers use live people. There are a number of people out ther using automated systems to do their calling. How do you get these people fined if they continue to call? Would you '*69' the number and turn it into the FTC? I think that this and other valid questions need to be addressed.
I am taking courses toward my degree and I must say that in my intro to programming course, the instructor was constantly stressing the need for 'black box' programming. In addition though, he also stressed that while keeping things black box, you also need to keep your mind on the whole project, always watching out for possibly security problems, etc. I believe that some people tend to get tunnel vision and concentrate wholely on the bb theory, without taking into consideration the whole program. This does usually lead to problems and errors in the code.
FYI, Clear Channel does not own every radio station, althought they wish they did. You can tell a non-clear channel station, they are the ones playing "The Last DJ" by Tom Petty. There are a number of independents.
Looks like eBay had other ideas as the item has officially been pulled from the listings. Hmmmm..... wonder why?!?

So, do you think they will make an attempt to put this software onto the P2P network(s) for distribution?

Ok, not to start this out being petty, but it takes one to know one, and WHO made these 'morons' authorities?
Personally, I like a playlist on shuffle so as to mix it up, that way I don't know what is going to play next and I can be suprised.

Heck I hear they are trying to get .05 every time someone types the word "Linux" and a dime every time they read it.

Ok, they need your credit card number why? Of course they wouldn't get my SSN# out of me either.
