That would be like sending everyone in your city with a drivers license a traffic ticket, because you just know that virtually all of them will speed, roll through a stop sign, or commit some other traffic violation this year.
Huh? Isn't that what this country wants? Both Obama and Hillary are promising it... the glorious days of state-sponsored (one-pay) universal health care.
I laugh at the prospect of the success of [your preferred game platform], or at the [other game platform], since [vaporware PC game] will be coming out soon for [PC with my favorite OS]. No need to spend [excessive amount of currency] every [interval of time] in order to enjoy the latest games, just upgrade my [PC hardware] for [considerably less amount or money than your favorite console] and I can have a cutting edge gaming experience now instead of [whenever the next generation of consoles are released to match the graphical processing power my machine has right now]. On top of that, I don't have to worry about spending money on getting [extraneous game peripherals/hardware add-on] to enjoy additional functionality that should have come with [your favorite console] to begin with!
In addition to that, [delayed MMO] will be coming out soon and will pwn [your favorite console], and you know that's what everybody is going to be playing anyways. [your favorite console] is dying, [netcraft/sales in japan/competiton from other console platform] confirms it.
That's OK. The new Mac systems will be coming out in January, and that combined with EA's renewed commitment, plus id Tech's "Engine 5" or whatever will put even your weak Vista gaming PC to shame!
Exactly, my iPhone bill is about $10 more than my bill with Verizon was, and yes, I buy the same amount of minutes, 2000 per month.
Except now, I get unlimited text, unlimited internet, WiFi internet (on a real browser) -- oh! and rollover minutes, so I can use 3800 minutes in a month, if I need it. I've already got 1900+ minutes saved up.
Oh, yeah, so too is the awesome syncing of _all_ of my contacts, not just a subset.
That's mostly what I love about the iPhone. The awesomeness of it's sync.
And yes, I do write this phone off as a business expense. Why can't you?
Except that Apple's packaging is much different than most other suppliers. Apple packs almost nothing in blister packs... the iPhone is "packaged like a fine watch" if I remember the review correctly.
Twice in the last three weeks I've re-installed Windows XP on computers that have had NO HARDWARE CHANGES! They were only being re-installed due to viruses and spyware. The CD-Key that's on the back of the computer didn't work!
See, these computers (one from Sony, one from Compaq) came with no recovery disc, and were both Pre-SP1. Oh, and since the CDs that would have come with the computer were SP1, and Sony/Compaq (HP) don't distribute them anymore, but also won't replace the media with SP2 media...
So, when you install, legally, from an XP SP2 OEM CD that you already own, and use the CD-Key on the back of the computer, that you paid for, and it still won't activate automatically... because the only OEM CD you have is XP SP2, and those computers shipped with a Pre-SP1 CD-Key... and then you have to call someone for permission to install?!? That's crap, no matter how "easy" it is.
Oh, and when you call, after the "automatic" internet-based validation has failed, you still have to wait for Microsoft's (friendly) automated phone system to repeat back to you that activation has failed before it will let you talk to a human. That's crap.
Once that's all through, the human on the other end cheerfully "verifies" that I'll tell him what he wants to hear, and goes ahead and activates the copy of Windows.
Click the link for a price comparison using a Mac mini and a Dell system. Pretty informative, if you ask me. Of course, I wrote it, so I could be slightly biased.
Or at least, that's what the knockoff car stereo makers always do... ever been to a flea market and seen a genuine Alphine or Phioneer car stereo on sale?
It got cancelled, and the movie did really poorly at the box office.
As geeks, we should'a been out there supporting Joss and his "new sc-fi series, with new characters and new stories and it is not based on a universe that lasted for 40 years".
I personally feel bad that I only saw the movie twice at the theatre.
We bitch about nothing good on, but then don't support it when it shows up.
I was not aware of that. I had understood the iPOD would only play DRM iTunes music.
Wow.
The whole point of the iPod was that you could listen to all of your existing mp3s -- and then buy your new music from the iTunes Music Store.
Oh, and by the way, iTunes really makes it easy to rip your own CDs, even if you hadn't already created your own mp3s. And it even supports converting to mp3 out of the box. Of course it's set to Apple's AAC format rather than mp3 by default, but hey.
And the iPod still doesn't support the ogg format, but neither do most other portable players.
That would be like sending everyone in your city with a drivers license a traffic ticket, because you just know that virtually all of them will speed, roll through a stop sign, or commit some other traffic violation this year.
Man, don't give our municipalities any ideas!
See parent, RE: creepy.
Huh? Isn't that what this country wants? Both Obama and Hillary are promising it... the glorious days of state-sponsored (one-pay) universal health care.
Have you been to the VA lately?
Oh, but the US government did put Microsoft in the monopoly position... remember, they standardized on Windows AND Office 95.
Once the gov't standardized something, all of the contractors (private businesses) have to fall in line.
Yes, our gov't did create the Microsoft monopoly, as sure as they created the Ma Bell monopoly.
Perfect! They now have a warrant, and you've had several hours to clean up any messes!
It is kind of like conSLUTing, isn't it? Selling yourself to the highest bidder, I mean.
An amazing typo. Thanks, man! LOL.

No Mac support?
I'm not sure who's smoking what, but I just watched the first 30 seconds of episode 207 of Heroes, on my PowerBook (G4) in Safari 3 on Leopard.
That's not bad, actually.
If you really want this to happen, support the Read The Bills Act.

Man, in your world, there just isn't enough room for a Blackberry and an iPhone to be successful, is there. Why not?
And there _are_ Macs available with expansion slots... they call them "Mac Pro" http://www.apple.com/macpro/.
Except that Apple's packaging is much different than most other suppliers. Apple packs almost nothing in blister packs... the iPhone is "packaged like a fine watch" if I remember the review correctly.
Apparently someone hasn't been paying attention.
Apparently, you've never seen The Matrix!
Might as well call it WindowsNext... rather than 7, I mean... If you follow the 9x tree it's:
Windows 3.1, Windows95 (4), Windows 98 (5), Windows ME (6), Windows XP (7), Windows Vista (8). Each of these being major upgrades.
If you follow the NT tree it's:
Windows 3.1, Windows NT 3.5, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 (5), Windows XP (5.1), Windows Vista (6).
So it kinda depends on which numbering scheme you use... but MS can't keep their numbers straight anyway!
Why don't they just pull an Apple and port the Windows GUI to BSD?!? Morons.
Whatever. That's crap.

Probably.
When you compare Apples to Apples (pun intended) you see they actually are _very_ close in price.

Hey! That's CyMantec and Mkaffree!
Or at least, that's what the knockoff car stereo makers always do... ever been to a flea market and seen a genuine Alphine or Phioneer car stereo on sale?
Yeah. It was called Firefly, then Serenity.

Mark me down for DS9-style extended story arcs. I love 'em.

Duh!
Obviously the movie industry is the MPAA!
