I once got a free internal DSL modem from Efficient Networks because they were beta testing the drivers on their new internal card on linux. Very nice of them, I hear the card was expensive.
Just because he was correct in his observation that there was no headphone jack, does not mean he isn't insane. For all you know he's looking at a tomato for a headphone jack.
Fact: They usually just ignore bugs until b\they become a CRITICAL vulnerability. And even then it can take months to address.
Fact? sounds more like a baseless claim made from anecdotal evidence. Does the poster really know what usually happens when the the IE team encounters a bug in their code? I highly doubt it. I think its much more likely when the IE team encounters a bug it usually gets fixed and patched without anyone knowing. Not all bugs can lead to vulnerabilities, or for that matter are even noticable to the end user.
get this straight, pot is NOT addictive. It is fun however. Same goes for alcohol, drink lots. You can still get A's even doing that shit, I know from experience.
I also wonder how many people actually use the ALT, CTRL, SHIFT and similar keys on THE RIGHT SIDE of the keyboards (for as long I can remember I have NEVER pressed any of those keys on the right side, I only used their sister keys on the left side of the space bar).
I can see your not a windows 9x user. CTRL+ALT+DELETE all on the same hand, very handy.
Thats amazing, I thought it was actually local.(I am in the NY listening area) It is really localized well. He mentions other z100(my local clearchannel station) dj's, and their "song of the day". Wow. Honest to god I would have never known it from any other countdown show on the station.
Ok, im sorry but that only works with some words. You can spell color or honor with or without a 'u', but you can't just add an 'x' to matrix because it looks cool.
Any reply to this will just be speculation, simply because we don't know. We don't know what Microsoft is going to do. They may make it completly open and standard or they might not, but as of now, we don't know. Why is slashdot encouraging this kind of worthless speculation?
In his post it reads: So why should I spend my meager (non-existant, now) salary to support a company? They're in a business, and the business of business involves profiting.
H.G. Wells wrote the book, but it was Orson Welles that spread it on the radio. Theres no relation. Its just coincedence that thier last names are pronounced the same.
Everything Wil Wheaton says gets modded up +5! Why you ask? Because he is famous. This then causes his karma to go up! Since when can fame bring you karma? This a true butchering of the concept of karma, and I will not stand for it! Kick Wil off slashdot! Who is with me?
thats funny, I have been using linux now for years, and I still cant quit vi! That has happened to me, accidentally starting vi and issuing a killall command after a worthless ^X-C frenzy, lol. That, belive it or not was what made me used emacs, which I actually ended up learning a completly non-standard way of controlling.
I would realize its a dream right there. It would not get any further.

So what is that, a total of three laptop sales?
Just a joke, I love Canada

You honestly think Lucas is doing this to save money on episode 3? Thats nuts. He spends the most on special effects in the buisiness.

The more companies will slip through your fingers.
And by GNU no matter!

It reads:
I am a slashdot subscriber. Are you?

Slashdot is news for nerds. AIDS is a sexually transmitted disease. Need I further explain?
