Well, I think the poster thought "a large country in Europe".
But, if you want large countries (in Europe) that are very rural, look at the Nordic countries. The population density in France is 117/km^2 whereas in Norway, Finland and Sweden it is 16, 18 and 23 respectively. In terms of area, Sweden is the third largest country in Europe with just Spain in front.
It is different in the sense that (at least in Sweden) there are rules, policies and laws that would prohibit an employer to arbitrarily check the log files for attendance.
In addition, these security systems only control when you arrive and leave. The article implies that RFID tracking was used for every class as well as other things and also stopping her from some activities. Sort of like the employer would track what you eat for lunch?
Koha http://www.koha.org/ is an open-source library catalog. It has circulation and database. Use barcodes or RFIDs on the books (the tip of extra cover is good).
Many real libraries use Koha for their library database and circulation.
Now this might be petty but as a Swede it would be fun to poke at US nationalists a little:)
My questions is frankly; Why is there a US flag on this story? Yes, one of the scientist is from the US but the other is French. Not withstanding the fact that the Nobel Prize is Swedish.
(This/. so I don't think there is anyone here that doesn't know were the Nobel Prize comes from)
I usually feel alone in some of my thoughts and opinions bu tI hope I have some friends out there. As an administrator I can't understand why Chrome catches on. I have never seen any worse browser. From an admin point of view that is.
* I can't set the local cache size (what browser in their right mind saves 1GB(sic!) on the local hard drive?) * It saves it's EXE in the Windows profile. I thought Program Files existed for a reason.... * We have re-routed MyDocuments to a home directory. Chrome default saves downloads in Downloads under MyDocuments. EVERY single file! Attachments from mail or not doesn't matter. 99% can be deleted but I still need to check with the user for the of chance that he/she has edited something in the folder.
In short, I hate it. (If someone has any answers to these issues I would be grateful to be informed of such answers. And don't bother with command-line switches, are the invoked when the user starts the browser on a link?)
Now I might be wrong here but memory serves that in Sweden the retailers are forced to accept a return of old equipment of the same kind when you purchase a new one. My google-fu right now has failed me so I can't find a reference.
I might be that what was optional now will be mandatory and different countries could already have this in effect.
And of course you trust a site that is openly AGAINST Sweden's legal system??
You forget to mention that to be extradited he has to be CHARGED with a crime. Further, it cannot be capital offense since Sweden won't extradite you if you face the Death Penalty.
Also, remember to look to the LEFT when you get home.
After a week in Southampton I got it right when I crossed a street. The trouble started again when I got home and still looked to the right when crossing.......
Not to start any flame-wars or anything but I have noticed that walls in the US are _alot_ thinner than in Sweden. I guess there is a different tactics in firefighting because I haven't heard anything from my close cousins father-in-law when we have discussed firefighting. (He is a retired fire chief). My point is that with a different tactics this problem might be mitigated. (Given that the lining is fire-proof:) )
220V to my knowledge hasn't killed anyone where ~100V would have saved them. To shift the same power the US must have thicker cables but sometimes it isn't. Also, why on earth do the US only use 2 phases of 3 for the "heavy" stuff?? That would be a huge imbalance on the 3 phase power. If 100V is good why are all data centers shifting to 220V? (Maybe not all but you get the idea). And as the article is wrong (in Sweden anyway), most outlets in a normal house/apartment is 10A and the stove/washingmachine at 16A. At ~232V (400V 3-phase) this equals 2320W or 3712W (with a pure resistive load of course). This on a 1,5mm^2 wire. (Might be thicker in the walls, 2,5mm^2) Why some one (Aussies) would argue that it's a good thing to plug a AC plug the right way is beyond me since it doesn't matter!
In Sweden (Euroland) the ground/earth is also the first and last to be connected/disconnected.
But, as a whole I would agree to get the same plugs on the planet. Trouble is, I would like it to be 220V....... with a small plug.
As many will point out, you have to get it to the top.
No CEO would like to be in power when BSA knocks on the door. Also explain that the cost of software should be in the business plan of the company.
Don't trash talk the former guy since he could still be a friend of someone in Management but do explain what the person did wrong and how much it will cost to repair his mistakes.
(I'm Swedish so I could be wrong) In Sweden the old analog system needed a directional antenna and getting a bounced signal meant ghosts in the TV picture.
With digital it's not a bad thing with a bounced signal (off building or mountain). What you DO need is to change the antenna from a directional (the Yagi one) to a "array" type. (Looks like something you put on the grill)
So if it's the same over there you all need a new antenna.

Additionally, mail is stored on Exchange based on "Single Instance Storage", meaning that if I send an email to 20 other users in the exchange database (which there can be multiple of), only 1 copy will be stored. This presents a HUGE space savings as it relates to the database, and backup jobs (when performed correctly), as well as file server space (since most people just throw their PST's on the file server, which is being backed up anyway).
....
Sounds like you are selling Exchange....
I would like to point out that GroupWise does the same and most probably Notes as well.

Now get of my lawn! ;)
Sorry......I might be late with the reply but I have to.....
You complain about roaming in Europe compared to the US?
Newsflash:
Europe consists of _different_ countries!!
My apologies, but your post suggests that you have no idea.

So yes, it is vastly different.
I'll submit myself to some push-ups as punishment for bad research.
I thought the site looked odd for an open-source project.
I should have consulted our librarian for the correct link.
Apologies for this.

More googling suggests that this is how it is. /C

It is known that some areas have been better surveyed and thus have a better accuracy. Compared to the area beside it will show as lines.

Wrong.
Not the average but the lowest recorded temperature was about -90C. The average in winter is between -40 and -50 C. /C

220V too much?
(I'm Swedish and an Electrical Engineer)

I've stopped playing Rainbow Six after they made the same PC version for console as well.
Rainbox Six: Las Vegas only has a 4 player co-op while the old games had more.
I have more friends than 3!!!
All this to comply lame consoles that only have 4 pads.
There are Lies, Damned Lies and finally Statistics
Wrong.
In Sweden there is NO law against talking and driving at the same time.
Reason? There is NO difference between mobile phone distraction and other distractions.
Sweden and one or two other countries in Europe doesn't have this ban for this very reason.
I could get a link but it would be in Swedish so...
.....already.
I thought sites would have learned by now........
Oh maybe not :)
Not sure about size and power though.
Anyways, a SMS to the phone will let it reply with it's position. Wouldn't be hard to get this into Google Maps or something similar.

It's not a matter if it should be allowed or not rather than if they can get away with it.
Unfortunately this seems to happen more and more.
I should have studied to be a lawyer...... /C
And this was modded Informative???
Wouldn't it be easier if you strange guys upgrade your silly system to metric??
At least the metric is easier to count. 10 of one thing is 1 of the same thing. /C
