You can get his compilation of all his short SF stories in a book published by the NEFSA Press. Title: The Complete Short Science Fiction of Cordwainer Smith ISBN: 0-915368-56-0
It has all the stories in the insturmentality series, except Norstrilia. It also has a few of his other stories; the original version of War No. 81-Q (which was not written for the Insturmentality setting); Western Science is So Wonderful; Nancy; The Fife of Bodidharma; Angerhelm; The Good Friends. I really reccomend CS for anyone who likes science fiction.
Reverse mounting fans won't help the problem. I presume the computer lab is using OEM computers or beige boxs, not someones killer 8 fan box with dBs of death. Reversing the fans will make the problem of shorting the PSUs worse. If the air intakes at the front of the case there is more chance for dust to settle on the bottom of the case. If the air intake is at the PSU more dust will settle there, accumulating and then killing the PSU faster.
Gonna be redundant, as previous reply pointed out; do you have pictures of how the rings turned out? The design seems very facsinating and I would love to see the end result.
That was actually an Apple tech support route at one point in time. When I was 6 or 7 our computer died, and after my dad talked to a tech for a few minutes, the conclusion was to wack the harddrive once and see if it worked after that. It worked like a charm =D
Be it a large software company or a local PC shop/chain; businesses will be willing to help if what you are doing could benefit them. If it is donated equipment or software licsences[SP], businesses often will donate something. At my highschool, our IT department is run by a commitee of local businessmen/women who help finance programs out of their personal/buisness's pockets.
While I wouldn't let the average A+ Certified technician loose on my Linux installation, they're probably quite capable of fixing most hardware problems you might have.
Today I had to deal with a kid who is studying for his A+ Certification and did not know how to remove a expansion card. The only thing he knew how to do was take a cover off of a case. And there is a entires classload full of kids like this. I wouldn't trust them with my windows install, let alone anything else.
And it will weigh 5 pounds. You find someone who is willing to lug around 120lb case of flavored soda water.

How many times have ancient supergerms from these Not-Meant-To-Be-Touched-By-Man sources nearly wiped humanity from the face of the Earth? There's always an Arquillian Battle Cruiser, or a Korilian Death Ray, or an intergalactic plague that is about to wipe out life on this miserable planet. The only way these people get on with their happy lives is they do not KNOW ABOUT IT.
As a previous poster said; this is a high tempature becasue this is a metal based semiconductor, not a cermaic based one. Two different processes going on, hench type 1 and type 2 semicondutors.
IMO If your looking for engineering, look at the monuments in DC. Sure, they aren't high tech fiber or neato electrical stuff; the granduer required to build them took some engineering prowness.
see some of that lazeropticalneuro shit happenin..
Are you willing to donate your brain for the sake of hard drive space? The research will only go on as long as people are donating good, clean brains. Yours may be questionable, but/. needs to start a donate-a-brain fund for this idea.

...does Ashcroft have the decency to give a reacharound?
NM.
I could only see this being a problem if the photodector is smalled than the wavelength of the light being detected.

But that won't stop people from posting s#s in newsgroups.
Economics, not science. If you choose to criticize someone, at least criticize properly and stop posting as an AC.
Hey dipshit, thats the joke.
Go out, party, get a life, and stop correcting a JOKE.
..I guess we can't trust gravity either. Time to rewrite textbooks and remove the word gravity, since apparently we can no longer trust it!
