I dunno, but with all the ISPs whining about how much traffic things like Kazaa use, I wonder if they would be too pleased at this kind of thing catching on? With each movie being 500mb + thats going to be an awful lot of data whizzing around...
I wish people would stop thinking "UFO! OMG! Aliens!"..
A UFO is exactly that... an Unidentified Flying Object. It doesn't mean it's from another planet, it just means there was an object in the air, and some bystander with a fuzzy camcorder at best couldn't work out what it was.
I know that people who subscribe to Locust in the uk, can find out how far away they are from their friends by means of gsm triangulation, amongst numerous other cool services.
Hmm.. thinking about it.. seeing as Microsoft is making a loss on every box sold, and hoping to make money on the games instead, if we ALL by an xbox but no games, Microsoft should go bust:D
if you look at some of the software coming from the handhelds.org people, for example.
There are applications such as Storm - A complete PIM app being developed at an incredable rate, and offer loads of functionality.
I can do everything with linux on my ipaq (probably more in my opinion) than with windows CE and Palm OS.
I can manage email, contacts, surf the web via my cellphone, listen to mp3s, play doom even.
Also, given the fact that there are a lot of linux geeks out there with PDAs, there is also a lot of people who wouldn't mind running there favourite OS on their handheld.
Sales of the new Sharp Zaurus should give us an indication as to how well linux fairs with normal businessmen and the like.
Do you actually pay for this site?
Do you contribute anything but heaps of troll?
slashdot is provided as a free service, which we should be greatful for. It also amazes me the amount of time you have taken to write such a lengthy piece of crap.
If you don't like slashdot, DON'T VISIT IT.
If you don't like slashcode, DON'T USE IT.
Might be nice to know what the bug was that you submitted.....
Just for my own reference, examples of sites which died with the DHTML bug? Do lots of sites use DHTML? What the hell _IS_ DHTML ? :)

...yes.. I particularly like the simplistic design - a plain grey page with nothing on it...
Maybe you should check your server / pipe can handle a slashdotting before posting your site to slashdot?
...and I quote from the URL:
"Key Specifications:
Dual Pentium III-based 1U rackmount server designed to run Sun Linux Version 5.0 or Solaris x86 Operating Environment."
I presume sun would have to reverse the decision to support Solaris 9 on x86, seeing as the LX 50 uses x86 hardware.

I'm sure this is an "excellent review" seeing as the guy who posted it has the same url as the review.
I'm more worried that it took them "just 30 minutes" to find the damn thing....
Forget CPU speed, memory, apps. This one point on the Yopi specs has got me wanting more already...
Visueller Alarm (a la Knight Rider (TM))
I'll take two!
np... :)
I'm very sorry... what was I thinking?

"Mozilla held a placard that read, "Netscape 72, Microsoft 18," referring to recent market share data."
Two versions on... how much of a share has M$ gained ?
being playing divx on my ipaq for ages..
:)
take a look at BBPlay.
Open source divx player
Works fine for me and should work on the zaurus (same cpu)
whoa... that guys hair is just wrong... or scary.. or both
I used to use an isp called "RedHotAnt" in the UK..
The went horibly bust after about 6 months or so, when trading standards went to their "headquarters" and seized half their equipment.
Bugger - brain skipped that bit :|
*sigh*.. revision is killing me....
I've heard good things about GNUcash and it seems quite popular.
See GNUCash.org for more info.
Yup, me too :|
;)
I'm in the UK, whether that route makes a difference I dunno..
Either way, the site I goto sounds less buggy than the correct one
I would have to say yes.

Try http://www.linuxemporium.co.uk
They have loads of distros, including FreeBSD and Slackware.
:)
Anyone else getting freshmeat.net coming up all wacky?
:/
Its mostly ok, but the top horizontal bars are like 10 pixels thick instead of 1
