That may very well be the case, but it doesn't seem too useful. For a large measure of time, we break it up into years, each year breaks up into months, etc. and so forth. It makes more sense to keep these all in order. By your logic if we were to display a time, we would place tenths of a second before the hour but I digress. Fact of the matter is that nobody seems to use a sensible date format that remains compatible with how we are used to reading the time (HH:MM). I propose everybody uses the following YYYY-mm-dd_HH:MM:SS. Drop sections from either end if they are unneeded and everybody is happy, every portion is in order and you guys get to keep month-day.

I came across some quotes of his yesterday, amongst them was this gem:
You know, I'm Australian, and we have got the worst sense of humor. We are cruel to each other.

Interestingly enough, it seems the majority of us Aussies are cracking jokes and it is the non-Aussies taking offense. I was playing wow last night and several of us were making jokes in general chat, in the end I couldn't put up with the whingeing of people decrying us so I did what any Aussie would do, I went to the pub.

I really am surprised by the lack of references to Cryptonomicon. That is exactly the problem, too many laws exist only to save the stupid and incompetant from themselves. If I am going for a short drive without acting like an idiot, why on earth must I wear a seatbelt? $AUD175 fine for not doing so is crazy.
However, there is some room for their existence due to the cost to society of ones actions. So if you don't want to wear a seatbelt, if you are involved in an accident, you better be fine or dead, injured is not an option. Same goes for drug laws, addiction is not an option unless you can support your habit without resorting to crime to pay for it.

I may have just gotten home from the pub at 0515 but nevertheless, if I want to surf porn (like I usually do when I come home at 0500 on a friday morning)I should not have to jump through hoops to do so. The article mentions "The survey also drew a link between prolonged exposure to this material and tolerance of sexual aggression". Haha, get fucked, correlation and causation are not one in the same. It may very well be a big bad world out there but if parents wish to protect their kids, it is up to them to do so. Not everybody wants to have their children living in a plastic bubble and not all should be forced to live in same.
