So basically movies are really expensive because of President Bush. Maybe you and your commie friends can get together, start some sort of communal farm and raise that $30,000. Or, you can sit around and bitch. You seem pretty good at it already!
This article is a fraud. No source is presented, and goatse.cx is displayed in the examples. This whole thing was contrived just to get goatse.cx in a legitimate front page post. Best troll in years.
I don't want to start a holy war here, but what is the deal with you Mac fanatics? I've been sitting here at my freelance gig in front of a Mac Mighty Mouse (a 2005 model w/64 Megs of RAM) for about 20 minutes now while it attempts to drag a 17 Meg file from one folder on the hard drive to another folder. 20 minutes. At home, on my Pentium Pro 200 running NT 4 with a PS/2 mouse, which by all standards should be a lot slower than this Mac, the same operation would take about 2 minutes. If that.
"'Big Fruit has hammered the final nails into OS X PPC's coffin. It said that all sales of OS X PPC will end on the 23rd of December this year, and support for the pre-emptive multitasking operating system will end on the 31st December 2006.' Apple has posted a migration page to help OS X users easily switch to Linux."
That's right. Just like when we had classic MacOS (m68k/PPC) and EVERY developer of EVERY app shipped fat binaries. Oh wait, that's not what happened at all. Some apps shipped the old arch, most didn't bother. The m68k/PPC transition was hard as hell marketwise and this isn't going to be much easier.
I would hate to cause a rupture in your reality distortion field, but I would say it is an extremely safe bet that more than 60% of/. users are (gasp!) using MSIE on Win32.
it's important to look at debian as a concept as a whole. when you say "debian stable", you're talking a particular snapshot of all these programs 3 or 4 years ago that have been analyzed and proven stable. if you are looking for what linux provided as a whole 3 years ago, you are probably in the right place. why is it so bad to have a clearly defined role for this "stable" distrobution? it's called "stable" because that is exactly what it is. rock solid stable. if you want fancy jazz, no one stops you from using testing or unstable. despite the scary connotations, testing has proven to be stable as well.
Here's a better idea, why don't they take that money and donate towards the invention of the warp drive or the teleporter? Enterprise had some of the lowest ratings on TV. It got there for a reason: Star Trek needs a break from TV. Maybe after a few years off the air it can come back with some fresh ideas.
Here's another piece along the same lines as this one. In this alternate version of reality, ESR somehow comes into some money and he writes what he will do with it. Fascinating read, really.

If you want OpenOffice on OS X, help make one of the NATIVE ports more popular by using it. NeoOffice/J It's a totally native client that uses Java to render the UI. (Native Java? These are strange days.) Please help keep X11 apps off OS X. I realize we're stuck with X11 on Unix, but if you're sitting on top of Quartz, might as well use it, no?
I know this is going to get modded down, but it has to be said. I'm all for more articles, but this isn't a very good review. I hope the rest of the year doesn't lead to more of these "reviews". The only thing worse is the April Fools "jokes" on this site. By the way, this game came out ages ago and you can find reviews all over the place.
Say, has anyone ever tried Gatorade? Slashdot should do a review!
Maybe we could hear about the latest X-BOX titles too.
Boycott RIAA/Sony/etc, but make sure to buy their latest game!
All you have to do is call a function that scans the file looking for copyrighted material. If the function returns true, don't allow the file to be shared.
I didn't see that last movie, Nemesis or whatever. I DID make sure to see Trekkies 2, which wasn't as funny as Trekkies. If anyone out there hasn't seen Trekkies, take a peek. Even if you don't like Star Trek, the film was unintentionally hilarious.

Does this mean any game can be banned if a mod is made available to create mature situations?

IMDB is a reference to a site that lets you look up information on movies and etc.
See http://www.imdb.com/

You can't start a sentence with a conjunction!
If Google was to add MAYONNAISE, I'd be truly satisfied.

Maybe you should just buy an Athalon.

I'm unsure which comment is the troll.

An option for Freenet mode?
A good use for Freenet is re-experiencing surfing the web on 1200 baud.
Slow down cowboy!

So, really, it would be one line of code.
if (copyrightCheck(file)) { disallowSharing() }

I second this, this is the project to watch for OpenOffice on MacOS. Everyone should donate to this project, they are really getting work done.
