  1. Sure, the quality is not going to match what you make in your French press at home, but it's going to be on average better quality than your average fast food place like McDonalds or Burger King.

Burger King coffee is actually quite good IF you can get it within 20 minutes of being made. The problem with BK coffee is not that it's bad, it's that it's usually stale because it'll sit there for 3+ hours on the warmer before Joe Highschooler bothers to make new stuff.

So you stopped gaming because you had shit buying decisions?

Um, no. My decision had nothing to do with me being able to afford the cost of the game. Free time is finite and the microtransactions, loot bins, etc. were just the final straw that pushed me away from gaming and into other hobbies. Hobbies without tons of hidden costs associated with them.

Did I miss some good games? Certainly. Do I miss wasting time trying to figure out which games aren't attempting to rob me blind every time I play them? Not at all.

It used to be that you spend your $50'ish on the game and then you got to play it. Now you get a purposely crippled version of the game unless you want to shell out more and more money each-and-every-time you play it. No thanks.

  7. Depends on the use on The Mobile Internet Is the Internet (qz.com) · · Score: 2

This story misses a huge point - what people are doing that 70% of the time on the "mobile internet." Just because hopelessly addicted phone addicts spend 12 hours a day on social media and netflix doesn't mean that this has somehow supplanted the "regular internet." Things that aren't a waste of time are generally done in front of a real screen on a real computer, which is why, even if it's just 30% of the time, the important stuff is still being done on a fully-functional website. Thus, websites designed for computer monitors won't be going away any time in the next 10 years.

  10. Actually a GOOD THING on Activision Patents Pay-To-Win Matchmaker (rollingstone.com) · · Score: 5, Insightful

Hear me out on this. The practice described in the patent is total garbage and a very bad thing. However, the patent itself is excellent. If Activision owns the patent on this, then other game makers would have to pay to do the same thing, thus making them less likely to do it, thus making it less likely for us to see the practice used in actual games.

Why not stop being a douchebag and realize that just because Christians did, at times, burn books, that is not the de-facto standard of Christianity? Sounds like you're the one with your head in the sand and it's really a shame that tiny-brained cowards like you are allowed to post anonymously here.
