got it, quality sux. the sound sync is off. I posted in the ep2 thread yesterday that it was out, and got modded to hell. now it's a front page story? If you don't know where to find it, no one's going to be dumb enought to tell you. If you want to see what is released when, check isonews.com . This particular release is a vcd.

did you notice what bart was writing on the chalkboard too?:P "I will not spread false rumors of being canceled" or something like that. I busted out laughing for like 5 minutes.
IMHO, nividia is awesome. I don't care who has issues with the license of their drivers, at least they work. Not only that, but I get higher framerates in slackware than I do in windoze 98. As long as the nvidia binaries remain rock solid and work out of the box, I really don't care if I have the source or not.
side rant: ATI on the other hand releases the specs, but seems to do no actual work themselves. This does help produce free drivers, but they take forever! My friends radeon 8500 STILL doesn't work in XFree fully, while my gf4 ti 4600 has been humming along nicely since the day I bought it.
Does any real research get sent over i2? I know (our information at least) is sorted strictly by destination, which means my CS and Q3 pings never top 10-15 on the servers I frequent most.
well, it's been in slackware-current for a few weeks, but I guess that's not technically a "shipping" distro yet. However, slackware-8.1 does seem to be shaping up quite nicely and looks like it might be out any day now.
Also, my Antec 1040b case (the black one), had a large "door" type thing that closes over the drive bays so you don't seem them unless your going to use them. It even comes with a nifty (but flimsy) lock. I believe alienware actually uses/used these cases for a while. It kicks major ass.
you think that's bad? here at the University of Missouri-Rolla it's like 7 to 1 guys to girls. Engineering schools suck ass for trying to find a date. Luckily I got me a MIZZOU girl.
why not take ms's money? it's not like anyone is actually going to go buy a $1800 program just because they saw an ad on/.. Hell, I had a copy of ms vs.net ed for free, and sold it cause it's worth more to me on ebay than it is on my computer which only runs slackware.
Yes, I've noticed a lot slackware users moving to FreeBSD and gentoo over the last year or so. Fortunately, there has been tons of activity at #slackware on openprojects, cause Pat has done massive updates to -current within the last week, and none of the mirrors have it yet. Luckily us hardcore and bandwidth endowed slackers are pulling the rope till the official mirrors catch up. Hmmm, maybe I'll install gentoo in place of FreeBSD on my laptop while I update my slackware-current mirror on OpenBSD box and watch a movie on my slackware box.

agreed. I'm at UMR now, and it's extremely simple to remember 1 name/passwd. everything is kerberos authenticated, and it makes my life much more enjoyable.
It appears as if the comments for the story and the poll are the same comments. wierd. anyway, It seems I'm not the only one who has rooted coybow neal's box...
and a clear headed individual would have just set the system time back a few months to get around that. But.... I probably wouldn't have been thinking clearly in that situation either.
at one point they had a deseptive ad that looked just like a normal apps error message, that said "your comet cursor has expired, would you like to update?", and of course not thinking one would click yes, wether they had comet cursor installed or not.
I find that highly amusing. Your near Chicago, under 3 inches of snow, and I'm near St. Louis wearing shorts and a t-shirt cause it's 72 degrees right now.

Does Real or M$?
Last I checked, yes on Real, for several years now actually.

in other news, the cold war with russia ended 10 years ago, and random /. reads have no idea how you got modded up

I've been buying penguin caffine mints from thinkgeek for like a year now. it's helped me *slightly* cut back on my dew addiction.

If he can squeeze the work bugfix in there one more time? oh well, at least ppl know it's safe to upgrade.

not completely dead, blockbuster still uses a dos based system for cash registers. at least they did when I worked there last year....
(yeah, I know it was a joke, but still)

no, but with the new movie jason does get a spiffy new mask and armor. good thing too, that old hockey mask had taken quite a beating.
