Actually, I've got a friend who works at redmond (I know, evil...yadayadayada), and he said that they were running the nightly xp builds on every single machine in his building for the last couple of months leading up to build 2600 (yes, they did it on purpose).
It's cheaper because they only have one set of incompatibilities to deal with. Anyone who has built a computer before knows that lots of different types of hardware have problems playing nicely together. If they stick to intel CPU's, then the only have to deal with intel compatible mobos, and lower costs of Developing a whole computer that works every time. Also, they spend less supported the customer base. The don't have to spend more training there technical support and repair technicians.
actually, they are slightly defaced, if you look at the html source of the pages that have been infected, the virus has added a window.open() to the end of the page.
I'm working campus support at the University of Missouri-Rolla and we set up a HelpDesk web site at the above link. of course, we tend to get slightly more technically capable people at this school.
For people wanting to catch a glimpse of these magificent beasties, the only overnight stop will be at the University of Missouri-Rolla who won first place in Sunrayce '99 and placed 3rd in australia in that same year.
I've allready got it on DVD, and VHS, and laserdisc, and Divx, and MPEG, and VCD, and asf....... what are they talking about? a re-release maybe? it's like $17 at bestbuy.com
It's still to buggy for the next version of slack. Pat and the gang have stated over and over and over again that it won't go into the distro until it hits 2.4.6 or so. Which means a rock solid slack release some time in may, with the 2.2.19 kernel.
Not good at math get a CSC?!?!? where did you go and what did they teach you. CS theory is ALL about math! Algorithms, sorthing, etc. Hell, I started in calc here at UMR becuase that's the lowest you CAN start and get a CS degree! When I graduate I'll have an accidental math minor because it's required for the CS degree.
Does anyone know of a good z80 asmbler for linux? I've got an itching to work on my TI-83 again, and no TASM to do it with!

ohhh, 3 whole semesters of Calc? I go to UMR (the real school in the UM system) and the lowest math class I can take is calc. The CS degree here is one class short of a math minor, so don't complain about UMSL
The UMAX SCSI scanners are pretty well supported, but DO NOT get a parallel or USB UMAX scanner, they are completely unsuported becuase UMAX made the protocols and such completely proprietary.
I dual boot and so use Netscape 4.7 in both OS's. It is possible to completly remove AIM from the 4.7 browser. before rebooting (shudder) after the install, delete the c:\program files\netscape\whatever\aim directory. then after rebooting (shudder) play around with one of the configs (forget which one right now) and delete the now broken AIM link from the toolbar.

hurray for KPLR
*this texted added to circumvent lameness filter....*

But will it work with an exchange server, or do I have to keep loading Outlook in wine?
I found a bug! No slack pack availible, or even source gzip'd tarball for that matter.....
slackware had a version 4, but then jumped straight to version 7

right, my bad, sorry
Or stole it from the name of the band in Airheads.
How the fuck did this get modded up? It's a piece of shit flamebait.
Slackware-current has support for sparc, and if you wait (another month hopefully) for the next release, it will be official. yeah slack!
Heh, anyone who has bbc america allready has it, plus, the guy from red dwarf is an announcer.
I must have read it a thousand times in the development forum, and that's not bad considering there are only 6000 or so posts.

hmm, since I have el-cheapo cdrom that only reads music cd's anolog anyway, I have absolutly nothing to worry about.
pascal? I started with C++ at UMR, have done some C and Java here, and even fortran, where did you get taught pascal?
