    It's good enough, better than nothing. Let them put copy protection on, it is breakable. Someone will screw up or leak the right set of specs.

    If the data can be loaded into a PC, it can be cracked.

    If nothing else, there is always the "analog hole".

    Taco doubting a M$ conspiracy? At least I know why my submission got canned. CNN is reporting that the M$ may be having second thoughts on the Xbox. They are resorting to buying gaming companies to get titles for the Xbox. These things are going to make nice little Linux boxen in a year or two.

    How about this:

    Since RAM is cheaper than flash, use RAM for storage while the power is on, and dump the RAM storage and active memory to flash at power down. If you save active memory to flash, you could have an instant on system.

    The flash would take ~100,000 power cycles to start wearing out.

    I'm ready for a tiny video player. A small color screen, TV and FM tuner, 20GB+ HD and maybe a CD or DVD drive. Add a camera and you get a camcorder, too.

    Archos has something similar coming out, but the screen is too small.

    1Ghz Athlon with 1GB PC133 RAM and a VooDoo3 3500 video card.

    It is only with some files. TV shows and long clips mostly. Sometimes running them through DivFix works, or at least helps.

    Here in Memphis there will probably be a thunderstorm about 80 miles away that UPN will have to cover intently for the last 12 minutes of the episode. It happened last season.

    Thank God for Kazaa, I got to see the end the following night...
