In Europe there was a big competitor, Amstrad, I got an Amstrad CPC6128 in 1985, with a true and fast floppy disk (not a serial one like the C=64), but the best was it was running CP/M, so I got Turbo Pascal, DBase II, Multiplan or something, at one time I even got a C compiler, and a "word" editor. So they were useful and effective, it was not only a "gaming" machine. I switched to a PC anyway early 90s with a 386 and Win3 running in protected mode, woohoo!
> SAE measurements in construction: The US is going Metric. I believe in a decade we will see construction materials dual-labeled, at the very least, like Canada does with road signs. Once construction goes Metric, it's a go for the rest of the transition to be made.
What? In Canada everything in construction is imperial, you buy a 2x4, not something with strange number no one is using. Also as far as I remember all road signs in Maine are dual labeled for a long time now.
Strange, the phones I have (Galaxy SII, Moto G2, Zenfone 2) all have FM radio and I never had a problem with channel changing, maybe if it's in your pocket the touchscreen is getting touched. I'm a bit like you and always buy unlocked phone with audio jack and SD card, and $300.
Absolutely, I put up 3 tables, something like 20 chairs, 3 big TV/media, multiple living-room kallax and besta, shelves, beds, whatever, ~80 furnitures in all, and it's easy, just follow the step.
I had to double check your picture, it is exactly the same in Québec, everywhere, and we have snow storm and all and power cutoff every winter... a government run power system...
It is the same in Android and for a long time, when you turn off wifi, it is still on, it will always scan for available SSID and it helps for location. There is a deep setting to really turn it off however.
Same, I am currently reading Revelation Space, a little bit hard at the beginning because it often switches time/place/people. Prior to this I have read Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void by Mary Roach which is pretty good if you like the "right stuff"!
I am Canadian too, but my question is why using your CC for gasoline and groceries? A full tank is ~50$, a grocery cart is ~150$, I only use my debit card. For a bigger purchase, say 500+, I'll use my CC or put it on my home equity line of credit... Should I take a 99$ CC like you and start paying everything with my CC and reimburse every month? for a ~2% return? Is it worth the hassle? Especially since they are talking here to let stores charge you 2 or 3% for when you purchase with your CC compared to cash/debit
I googled something, eflite timber, checked some videos and rcgroups forum. 10 minutes later in my facebook feed I had an ad placement for the e-flite timber offered by some store...
I remember using /. before we had user accounts, 20 years ago.. yeah I'm old too, but I still browse the site almost daily :)
I guess it depends where you are... 2 weeks ago I drove the night in the Adirondacks park (upstate NY) and my (white) car was scattered with bugs...
Luckily my LMDE distro got a new wpa_supplicant this morning, I think this is to fix this, if yes, this is great!

I switched my SSH port to non standard but always see login attempts... less than before but still, some people do insane port scanning
> if you think the updates on Android phones are bad, let me tell you: The situation with Android tablets is worse.
Oh yes, I bought a few years ago the $$$ top of the line Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro tablet, it came with Android 4.4, it never had any update.
Your previous post was March 2009? You are quite a lurker!
I agree!
wow not bad. I remember when choosing a username/login was possible, before that we were basically all AC :)
The Xiaomi A1 is also not that bad, the LG G5 too.

True about quality, I have some furnitures that are almost 20 years old, mostly ABO and LEKSVIK and they are still very nice in solid wood.

There's also 44 frames of a PPT, in low resolution, with so much jpeg that you cannot read them properly.

it's really sad that you are 100% right :-(

> that all you require is a good business plan, and perhaps another injection of venture capital, and you can transform yourself overnight.
No, you need customers, only things you need. If there is none or not enough in what you're doing, aim differently to reach them.
