Not too funny for me. It was a 32-bit piece of code. DOS4GW extenders and stuff, remember? Now - could you make a 630k+ of lower memory available with ROM shadows and 256k of file cache AND exactly 1Meg of XMS still available of 2Meg RAM machine? I still remember pulling that off (successfully)...
Been Opera user since... Well, can't remember;) Circa 1997 maybe. Then (when Mozilla 1.0 came out) switched to it and never (almost) looked back. Then FireXxxx since 0.6(?) made my day. Mostly due to more customizations (I have some icons, menu, and some links on one bar). Firefox 0.8 is one great browser, with proper extensions of course. Now 0.9 comes out and does NOT work properly out of box (clean installation). I'd say it does not work at all after a couple of actions. Weirdest problems with navigation and stuff. Ok, I think, shit happens, they screwed again (do you remember that CSS bug which made "short" pages without HTML and BODY tags not render?). BUT! 0.9.2 is out and it is still the buggies Gecko browser I tried. WTF, guys?! I shudder to think about what would they put out in 1.0. And I'm sure it's not "just me".
Article mentions recorders @ $220 a piece. Considering I could buy perfectly ok recorder @ $80 at the local shop... Well, when was the article really written? I guess prices did plunge since then alreayd.
Well, on WinXP Acrobat 4 (IIRC) worked miracles in this department for me. Later it has been improved though. Also - there is that TVTuner program than does it on regular basis (EG). Also takes NTFS with it very well:-( (I tend to stick w/ FAT32 - much more "maintainable").
Why does it seem that PC gaming software market is dying whilst PC gaming hardware market is flourishing? Really - can you name some games (of recent) that are real fun to play AND that require pretty decent hardware?
Anyone care to recommend a frame-based stable, "no-bullshit", and all-around "good" docs editor? Free is cool of course but not strictly a requirement*. Also - don't say TeX - I seek something that I can also recommend to cow-orkers and "normal" people, like... well, economics or law students.
*: anyway - what's the use _for_me_ from SO's (EG) source if it's a royal PITA just to download them in this part of the world, say nothing about compiling.
That's not _too_ small (you clicked the link, did you?). FYI: the screen size on 7650/3650/3660 Nokias is 43x37mm (IIRC). Looks ok to be used in watches (bar other problems, like power consumption and stuff). And those smartphones are considered pretty useful by many.
Can you count it for me: how many syllables are there when you say "megapixel" and how many for "a thousand one hundred fifty two by eight hundred sixty four pixels"?
Wow. Me: Samsung sv1203n, 5400rpm, set to mid-level AAM, you can hear it only deep in the night. 50 MB/sec still. Next time you think 7200, 10000, 15000 rpm drives are groovy and 5400 are obsolete, think again.
Interpreted?? Well, I'm always the first to give a good kick to any MS abomination, but you don't quite know what you're talking about. On my (PC) machine.NET exes on benchmarks I throwed at it has been pretty much on par with native compilers _and_ beating many of them for that (Intel C compiler still rules though). No wonder, when you think about it -.NET adaptively compiles bytecode to whatever (modern) features your CPU may have (SSE being the most notable) while all the "traditional" compilers are bound to target least common denominator (386).

Who's the true old fart now?
..."Just because I can find lots of people with McDonalds experience, doesn't mean my restaraunt should specialize in fries and burgers"...
:))
Dude, have you made it yourself? You're genius! Cookie-filed. Thanks!
To plea again: somebody, finally do something about File | Save As.. | Single MIME encoded file. IME it's the #1 problem when converting people.

Who else has read the title as SusE? This miscapitalization is silly.
Does a bully always get the AGP head? :)
Oh, you're still a kid. Making "jokes" like this and stuff...
Anyone knows if precompiled headers ("production quality") are coming to GCC any time soon?

Delphi (probably)
Windows (I guess)
Use keygens guys! :)
Hooah!! All that would be needed done then is to rewrite it cleanly. I bet this could be done it 1-2 months.
Well - if they would resurrect the space program (like building a moon base), this kind of movies will be "saveable" much easier.

When the standards are cuty.

Ecchi titty pee... My dear...
(Move along if you don't know what ecchi is)

Whoever modded this "informative" - please stand up. Here's a medal for you :)
Yes, it's certified to last for at least one megacall.

You do realize that C is older than that?
