Well, we seem to get slashdot articles about every MSIE security flaw

Yeah, the average Slashdotter likes to think they're STICKING IT TO THE MAN by not using Microsoft products. The actual quality of the replacement is not really relevant.

I just use Firefox because I'm tired of people lecturing me when they see I use MSIE.

  2. "Libraries and modules" on Beginning PHP and MySQL 5.0 · · Score: 1

The beauty of PHP is in its open nature and the rich set of libraries and modules which imparts a lot of power and flexibility to the programmer. I haven't done a PHP install in awhile - is including these additional modules and libraries still as easy as recompiling the whole package, trying to get Apache to accept the recompiled module, then fixing all the scripts that suddenly don't work with the new module?

  3. Did anyone actually read the article? on U.S. to Gain Access to EU Retained Data · · Score: 1

Oddly enough, the article actually contradicts itself. At the top it says that " US authorities can get access to EU citizens' data on phone calls, sms' and emails" - if you read the article itself, it says that while the US has *requested* this, it hasn't yet actually happened.

I'd define "stupidity" as something closer to "inability to discuss a simple subject without insulting people of a specific race/country/ethnicity/etc."

"americans" should be capitalized, by the way.

I suppose. Now where's those (reputable) reports and media discussions about Fox News? You know, the network that doesn't do "factual reporting?"
