So, you are saying that most, if not all, of the PhD's are geniuses? From what I have seen after 27 years in high tech is that a PhD is someone who avoided work until there were no more degrees to get. Never confuse a degree with intelligence.

No, have you. If you have why didn't you prevent it? The only way to 'completely' prevent your kid from harm is to prevent them from doing anything at all. Lock'em in a rubber room until they are 18. My son bites his nails. Nothing I said or did could make him stop. He now has a nasty infection on a finger which hurts like hell. I am pretty sure he will think twice before biting his nails again.

"How did these guys make it this far into life?"

That has been one of my main complaints with modern life. There is no more natural selection. Ten thousand years ago these people would have been eaten by lions while going "here kitty". We can no longer depend on the stupid killing themselves off anymore.

Last year on the 4th of July we were driving back from the fireworks. My son was chewing on a glow stick in the car. I warned him that they could break but being a kid he didn't listen. As soon as we stop at home I hear this 'eeewwwww' from the back and when he got out both his mouth and shirt were glowing. That was a Kodak moment.

I ran into this. I have a collection of more than 300 video tapes I want to rip and put on my hard drive to view downstairs on my tv (via play@tv). The bitch is about 30-40% of the tapes have macrovision's scheme and I can't copy from tape to DVD (govideo combination box). I paid for the tapes and they are preventing me from using them as I see fit. I can still copy from VCR to my capture card, but that is quite a hassle.

  25. Liquid Cooling on How to Cool Your PC with Dry Ice · · Score: 1

I have two different water based cooling systems which do a great job of cooling the CPU and Graphics chips. If I every want to go colder I could drill a couple of holes in my mini fridge and pump the coolant through either the freezer or the 'warmer' section. Problem is condensation on the lines and the cooling blocks. I have found the trying to cool my system that low is not worth the cost. Mine run at room temp + 10 degrees which is good enough for me.
