So? Multitouch was being worked on in the 70s-80s. Didn't stop Jobs from claiming to have invented it when the first iPhone shipped. When they put this in the iPhone 5s they will claim it's this amazing new thing that they invented.
It's a gimmick for sure but it's one I think I'll enjoy. Jobs hated buttons, he hated ports. I'm sure he also hated cables. Remember the original iMac mouse cable? it was so short because it only needed to reach the keyboard port. Jobs didn't want to make it long because he hated the clutter. He totally would have been all over wireless charging. And just like with multitouch he would have claimed to have invented it.
That's what I really don't get about this whole thing. Apple is all about simplifying things. Wireless charging and NFC just seem like a no brainers for them. Think of how cool they would have made those commercials look with all the hip kids using these great new features. People would have loved it and if Jobs were still alive he would have spun it as his magical idea. I honestly don't get it. Apple just isn't the same without Jobs I guess.
A lot of people where I work run mac laptops because it is one of three or so options on the IT buy list. Almost all of them run Win7 on them. That type of thing may explain some of it.
>Just because you can disprove one interpretation doesn't mean that all interpretations are false.
Since there is no evidence supporting any of the interpretations it's reasonable to consider them all false. Btw, the account of how we got here is just one of many things god got wrong when talking to Moses.
It is incompatible in the claim that we all descend from two "first" humans. It is also incompatible in the ego centric idea that this is all about us. Evolution doesn't plan ahead or work that way.
Yeah, and that's the problem. A MBP is not an ultrabook. A professional has different needs than someone that just wants to carry a light system that looks nice in meetings.
Some of the features may seem like they are just catching up but in most of the important ways Windows is just plain better. Sorry but that's a fact. Linux is free while Win7 costs over $100. If something that is free still can't compete *at all* then there is very little room to say it's better or even nearly as good. Maybe you like it better. A few people do. That's fine but you are not typical.
The app is for syncing. This way my stuff is available when I'm off line. Any change I make is synced when I connect. What's the big deal? You don't have to use the app. You can just use the web interface if you want.
I think the real story is a bit different. Metro was another casualty of MS in fighting. Metro started came from the Phone team. The Windows team never likes to share.
Yes, Windows is better than Linux for the desktop. Sorry, that's just a fact. I tried to get my dad set up on Linux. He really liked that it was free and he could keep using the same computer that had been running XP. He gave it a shot but felt guilty about "bugging" me and just bought a new Win7 system. When something is free and still can't compete with something that costs around $100 there's very little room to argue that it is better.

I thought MS got $5 or so for each from the patents they license. So either way MS makes more on the OS than Google.

Don't think I really need USB 3.0 speed. I mostly just plug in my phone to charge it. Once I get a Nokia 920 I won't even need to plug it in for that.
We pretty much already have common connectors with the exception of Apple.
Sometimes it's best to just stay on the meds.

And you should feel bad for asking.
Or a person in a wheelchair that can't find a place to park.

No need to try again. Still not the same as faith.
What's your point?
Now I can stay up longer and write more code.
That is all.
Don't kid yourself. The t likes it.

And most people will continue to.

I'm guessing you've not tried it. Win8 is actually better on multiple displays because the task bar is on both.

Plug the drives in. Tell Win8 to treat them as one large drive. Good to go.
