Verizon is a landline company.. Verizon Wireless is a cellular company and bought all their bandwidth. They are entirely seperate companies with Vodaphone PLC owning the majority of the company not Verizon.

Either way verizon wireless arguement is valid. Just giving Nextel a 10mhz peice of spectrum for free is a slap in the face to all the other companies that have paid billions for their specturm. Nextel cannot tell me they were not aware that there could be problems with them moving in on the 800mhz area or they dont know what a spectrum engineer is for.

Better yet on the Linux system if the card is inserted if GW 1 fails for any reason GW2 activates and assumes the MAC ID of GW1 so it's nearly seamless switching to one.. minus the lower bandwidth wireless usually gets.

Yes but the only thing that are replacing jobs we are losing are things like McDonalds.

In 10 years the entire service sector could be automated. No cash registers at walmart, shelves are stocked by robots, all fast food is basically a advanced vending machine. What do you do with all of those jobs?

When farm machinery made agriculture not need as many people to work it we moved to the cities and took jobs in factories and such. There is no other place for us to go now. Nobody to my knowledge has explained what the next industry that will employ nearly 500 million people worldwide as automation eliminates 80% of the service sector jobs.

We are quickly approaching a point where many jobs could be done by machines or AI systems yet governments refuse to consider what to do with the problem of mass layoffs due to this effect.

If you want to consider what would happen then think of how Saudi Araibia would handle running out of oil or a sudden technology that would allow the world to quit using oil completely. They've already asked what the world would do to help them. I doubt anyone answered though.

The point is were a mainly a capitalistic world and that type of society is incapable of comprehending a world where there's not such things as cost/profit. Europe is transitioning to a socialist type government but still it's inherently based on capitalist's who just wave the banner of socialism.

A Republican or Democrat cannot see past the people financing their elections and it's one of the biggest flaws in our democracy now that the rich and corporations are the only influence in our political system. Our forefathers never envisioned corporations or the super wealthy and thus no protections from these types of influence were built into our government. Thus until we change our ways in the end we'll be stuck with a government that wont go out of the way to help those who lose their jobs.
