What's this guy's blustery hoopla all about? Why he loves Microsoft, why he's so smart, and all that jazz... Give yourself a big pat on the back, Chris! We're all proud of you.
Does this come with the training video?

I remember the awesome training video that came with the TI-82. This weird guy with a pocket protector standing behind a bluescreen which projected a giant image of the TI-82 in the background. Then it would show extreme closeups of his hands hitting the buttons...pure calculator pornography!
There was also a great showdown comparing the TI-82 to Casio and HP competitors (TI won of course). It was funny because you could tell the calculator dork really liked the HP best, but had to put on a good face because it was a TI video, at least I think it was...does anyone else remember that? God, I have no idea what I'm talking about...
LCD and DLP have "native" resolutions, which is a straightjacket. Feed them video outside their native resolution and even with good pixel compression, it will not look good as CRT.
Of course, CRT projectors are huge, expensive, and require lots of calibration to keep them in shape. But if cost and space are no object, CRT is certainly preferable.
They are also allowed to own up to 49% share of as many stations as they like.
And they do...plus they own concert booking and huge amounts of billboard advertisting. Put this together and you can see how they could have a 'chilling effect' on the ability of independent or lesser-known radio stations or artists to break in to the business.
I've seen this myth repeated again and again, usually in conjunction with conspiracy theories like "Motorola quit developing the G4 to hurt Apple".
1) 80% of all G4s sold have gone to Apple. So targetting the larger embedded market is a marketing excuse, a failure, or both.
2)Motorola's fabrication facilities have been in horrendous shape for at least 4 years. High failure rates, In one location, they even quit running the fans to "save energy."
3)Motorola has failed to advance in the embedded world as well. TiVO and many others are switching from PPC to MIPS because Motorola's stuff is not moving forward.
4)Brain-drain and 'Dilbert syndrome' have plagued Motorola's CPU division since Apple killed the clones in 1997. They are spinning off that part of their business, but there's no indication that the situation has improved.
It's so neglicent, it could end up landing the company in a negligee!
I wonder if your comment is what Darl McBride says 6,000 times every night before he does to sleep. And not just because it's boring, but because it formally codifies the self-serving "fuck everything but 5 minutes from now" attitude that so permeates the American business world of today.
Stunning not only in its retreat from personal responsibility from reprehensible acts (aka Enron) but in its complete indifference to the big picture with regards to business! I'm just glad Hal Jordan isn't alive to see this type of attitude portrayed as acceptable for anyone, let alone captains of industry.
Please, let Seanbaby do Seanbaby. There's a reason why he's on TV now. He really IS that funny! Sadly, you are not.
Making up silly insults to yourself in some sort of mock "Oh, they're going to be so pissed!!!!" tirade is a waste of everyone's time. Where's that maturity you were harping on? Nowhere? "It's okay, bro. I'm mature. I have a website where pretend that people are so mad at me for predicting the end of video games that they call me a sentient ham statue. A SENTIENT HAM STATUE!"
Video game graphics aren't getting any better? We've reached a plateau in gaming? Well then...video games are doomed. Trust me, they're as dead the art of painting after they invented the camera.
Listen, Wong, if you have a point to make...and I am not convinced that you do...why not try to make using the time-tested combination of argument bolstered by example? Just a gentle hint from someone who is marginally literate...
I just wish there was more honesty involved, and less friggin *POSTURING*.
Whoa, Linus! Ease up on the hypocrisy. No one wants to hear a tirade about how to punctuate "x86-64," and how Itanium is a "locked-in chip with patents and no serious competition internally." Have you forgotten that you work for a company that produced patented, proprietary CPUs?
I thought Linus was known for his soft-spokenness and restraint. Has he become too big for his britches lately or what?
I routinely reboot and reprogram machines in our data-center that is 2000 miles away from me.
As long as all hardware components are working and there is connectivity to the machine, it doesn't matter whether the machine is a few miles away or a million miles away.
You are too humble, friend. What you do routinely and without thinking, is nothing less than a miracle of modern science. A miracle that you take part in every day. And because of men like you, we don't have to rely on the abacus anymore. We sent a pentium to the Moon, and soon, Mars will be colonized by G5s. America salutes you, for all the things that you do.....
Man, somebody is on the crack today. Googlenews around for Lyssa, she's a fairly famous "geek girl," maybe a little pretentious and attention-whoring, but not a "fake person" or "troll" as you so snarlingly put it.
The anonymous guardians of righteousness here at slashdot make me chortle. Are you guys private investigators in real life? I didn't think so.
Go back to being upset about Janet Jackson's nipple or whatever other self-righteous tirade you were getting yourself all worked up about before you found Slashdot. We don't need you here.
LaserDisc is not a digital technology. If you look closely at a CAV laserdisc, you can see the individual frames reflected off the light. It's basically a record player that reads frames (not to be confused with the CED.
In the later years, they kludged some digital stuff into it to do digital sound (AC-3).
But the video itself is not digital. It's an old-ass technology...as a matter of fact, it was originally called 'DiscoVision'. That should give you a hint of its age.
On the other hand, it would be the perfect uncompressed, copy-protection free source for anyone trying to make the 'original' on DVD. They could even sub in the soundtrack from the AC-3 versions of the special edition. That gives me an idea!
Take your Xbox...put it on the floor next to your TV. Turn it on (may I suggest "Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball"?!?!). Take a bath.
Come back when you're all wet. Take a sheet rock saw and start sawing away at the Xbox's power cord while you're all wet.
Soon, the cord will fray, and it will electrocute you. Now you're dead! This is a good thing, because you're no longer bound by the laws of time/space.
Go back in time and develop Cinnamon Rice Krispies instead of Cocoa Krispies. Then leave a sheet rock saw under your couch so that your future self will be able to use it to kill himself, setting you free.
If you follow these easy instructions, the Xbox will be free of all demons! And it will stay crunchy in milk!
What's the deal here? I mean, isn't the Internet supposed to be decentralized? Who cares if the Internet server in some EZ-mini storage goes down? What's the worst that could possibly happen?
And if it really is that bad, then why aren't we working on making stuff more redundant? All I know is somebody needs to spend money on this, just like the power grid. It's not glamorous, so no politician will run with it, but I think we should have some kinda dialup internet tax to pay for it.

What about the ED-209 winners? Remember, that robot from Robocop?
No, not that one, that was Robocop. The other one. He was all robot. He didn't have Robocop's human side. But he did have some cool machine guns.
I'd rather you puff on MY piece, if you catch my drift (my penis, that is).
By the authority vested in me by the great state of Texas, I will answer:
1)No
2)Everyone will
3)More than you could afford.
4)No
5)No
6)No

Private companies will make their lists available to the department of homeland security! Even your own writeup says this!
It's not like Coca-coka is gonna be getting dirt from you by calling up the feds.
Actually, you can't turn it so that you can only see posts at 0 or lower, I've tried.

Ooooooohh! Like a rock!

Who's hotter though, Estelle Getty or Bea Arthur? Now that's a tough choice!
Rue McLanahan was a dirty slut tho. Am I right?
Can someone explain to me what a 'webinar" is? Is it like a weboner?
And can you guess what a weboner is?

That is not the type of thing I would ejaculate on!
Damn, 17 seconds got me. I probably won't get FP now. I should give up!
No, dammit! No! I must have faith!

That's interesting, but what does Netcraft have to say about it? And what about Kreskin?
I'd like to see your setup.
I'm getting an Xserve G5 soon and I haven't used OS X Server at all. Tell us about Netbooting. The idea intrigues me...I must know more about it.
What other things are fun to use with it? The Xserve will be running PHP/MySQL, I don't know much about Mac OS X Server so please let me know!
I ffropgaermgaeromgaegoSRAGKWgaer/.
Next time, leave comedy to the professionals.
That way I won't be forced to saw off your tits.
