    liberalism is not about socialism. here in the USA there is lots of socialism for the government hating conservatives. Free money for farmers, unending highway construction and expansion when public transit is cheaper, socialism for rural airports with no real flights, government bailouts when property rights idiots build in flood zones in houston and then run to the government to rebuild their homes, socialism for police and prison unions and corporations via sending people to jail for minor crimes, etc.

    Its not the liberals protesting legalization of marijuana. It's the conservatives and police who will see a reduction in their jobs

    because phones have a 2-3 development and testing time frame and by the time the Note 9 began field tests it was too late to have it ship with pie or wait for pie and delay the testing

  7. if i buy food online from jet.com or costco it's a few minutes to add stuff to the cart and check out. with alexa i have to tell it to buy stuff one item at a time. and with amazon you have no control of the vendor or the price compared to the website.

    i bought two new phones and gave my wife's old phone to one of our kids. BOGO deals on AT&T are great for this. i might do the same again this year for the next kid but give him an older phone. I work consulting and can write my phones off as a tax deduction

    my mom is on an iphone 6. I have a spare 6S i'm going to give her soon. she also has a 5S at home that works just fine but i just had an extra phone for her

    old phones work just fine. people are buying new ones

    How would VZ go bankrupt? They have a true national fiber network, best cellular network and a big B2B business providing corporate networking and internet access. All a potential competitor has to do is spend the $200 billion or whatever VZW spent over the years to build this network up. They started as one of the baby bells in NY, bought the rest out and then bought most of MCI/Worldcom in bankruptcy.

    They were smarter than the other guy

    it's not a monopoly. has been illegal to do this for years. in rural areas it's all about money and the fact that even if you steal 50% of the customer base, you won't make back your investment in the infrastructure.

    here in NYC many apartment buildings and homes have a choice of two ISP's, multiple TV providers when you count in satellite and in some cases like mine i have a choice of 3 ISP's.

    My local chase branch is all automated kiosks and one or two human tellers. Virtually every other bank has one teller or maybe two available at most other times. Unless you're depositing cash there is no reason to go see a teller since it all can be done at the ATM or with a smartphone.

    The locations in NYC do more business in July than suburban locations in December.

    Some of us don't mind taking a walk during lunch or after work and you can have your stuff the same day unlike amazon. And they don't play stupid games with inventory like suddenly no PS4's in stock like Amazon does. Or only buying through some shady small business instead of Amazon itself

    B&H is a camera museum in NYC. Last time I bought something there it was a 30 minute checkout process to buy a $30 USB flash drive. And their receipt was like DMV paperwork. I chose the drive from one guy, another station to pay and a third station to wait to pick up while everything travels in their tube system.

    Never again. people only go there cause they have a good selection of DSLR's and other camera gear and people who know the products.
