God bless America. Or flying Spaghetti monster. Or random evolutionary processes. At least it wasn't that mutant.
Now, we have to:
1. Declare a national holiday so all can vote on a day off to eliminate the lines. 2. Get rid of the electoral college. 3. Get Congress to override Citizen United. 4. Take the money out of the electoral system.
this just proves that Microsoft doesn't get it. For all there R&D dollars and for all their marketing dollars, piggybacking off of Apple places them in a poor light, a "hey look, we are relevant too" kinda light. Apart from the OS space and the occasional Windows phone, Microsoft and Apple are no longer the direct competitors they once were.
1. According to IRS data, the Fortune 500 paid an average tax rate of 17%. 2. However, since taxes are merely an input cost, one can argue that corporations do not pay taxes on income. As we saw during the recent government shutdown of the FAA, when the airlines were not required to collect ticket taxes during that period, the airlines raised their prices to the level pre-shutdown and pocketed the difference. Taxes may impact profitability but the taxation is paid by the customer.
Who the fuck wrote the blurb for this story? Did the slashdot editors read it themselves? I had to reread the blurb six times before i could figure out which of the devices "fail". What the fuck. Given the popularity of this website can't the editors at least give the impression that they give a flying fuck about writing.
I am afraid the data doesn't back you up on the claim that "many peoples psychosis is triggered solely by their [sic] use of drugs". Studies have shown that porlonged drug abuse may inflame psychotic outbreaks and other aperiodic abnormal events but causation is not highly correlated. Indeed, the correlation with respect to marijuana use is below that of other exogenous factors.
And this becomes a non-issue. After all liquor stores publicize their locations. After all liquor is a more addictive, more harmful drug by orders of magnitude yet it is regulated and legal.
Given that the 7th and 9th Circuits have OK'd warrantless tracking, I am unsure how quickly the Supreme Court would grant cert on this issue. And given the current members of the Court, I might not like their decision.
Since when do the Jews control the entire recording industry? Certainly there are Jewish people at some of the major labels, but attributing ALL of the accounting issues to the Jews? I smell a troll.....
Just to clarify something for you, all property rights are "imaginary" rights. Whether the property right is over a tangible or intangible object is not relevant.
...I find the iPad to be a perfect web surfing device. Great for e-mail and watching video. I am actually considering selling my Macbook Pro, as it is starting to get dusty. That said, I wouldn't want to write a novel on it.
The only claim I see the Feds have for antitrust is for Apple "tying" disparate products, hardware and apps, similar to the issue in U.S. v. Microsoft (o.s. and browser). However, given Apple has only about 25% of the market share in the smart phone arena, I do not see the basis for the Feds action. The development platform only lock for Apple products strikes me as failing to meet the antitrust standard.
... Let the market decide? If people value walled gardens over open source or vice versatile, then let users vote with their dollars ornEuros or whatever?
that in the case of the attorney, an ethics complaint is filed with the state bar. This is unconscionable behavior for an attorney and should result in disbarment.
Your definition of "monopoly" is incorrect. Apple does not hold a monopoly in either computers or smartphones. Or any other electronic device for that matter.
No, no, no. Apple is simply saying they will not sell apps that contain porn. You are free to find it yourself and view it via Safari or install via iTunes. Please don't confuse the issue.
The Chicago Public Schools are laying off teachers and closing schools due to budget constraints. Howver, despite da mayor's feelings on the issue, I am not sure that dumping more cash into the the arguably bloated CPS bureaucracy would result in students receiving a better education. At some point, parental responsibility ensuring that students actually attend the schools and complete the days assignments might have a greater impact.

The logic that we need to compete with workers who are poorly paid, who live and work in an environmental nightmare, is ridiculous.

Sarah Palin just took down her USA Map with targets drawn over democratic leaders, one of them was for Gabrielle Giffords.
If your car fines you every time you go over 65, then don't drive or 60 or so. Problem solved.
