in the process? Are you trolling for "funny" points or something?
Anyway, since you put "Quantum" at the beginning of your sentence, where it would have been capitalized anyway, it wasn't at all clear that it was capitalization that you were talking about. Sorry.

Note that downloading the file is still illegal by his ruling (that's reproduction), it's just not illegal to make it available for downloading.
This is more a block to the legal prosection strategy of the RIAA, due to the technical details that make it easier for the RIAA to identify active servers than active downloaders, than it is an endorsement of the actual sharing of copyrighted material.
I have a phone that's very expensive as phones go, because it's integrated with my car's sound/navigation system to provide voice recognition and hands-free operation (and because it's a single-sourced component. Thanks, Mercedes and Motorola).
As a phone, it works great. As an electronic gadget, it's definitely short on features but the integration is critical to me.
If AT&T makes me change to another phone, I'll be changing providers (unless they can replace my phone with another one that will integrate with the Mercedes COMAND system) and they'll be costing me a bundle. I'll be pissed.
There is balance to be had. Having a golden goose should free you to take risks in other places, not make you so risk averse that you become a snivelling gollumlike miser.
Uh, why? If you do (a) twice, you know you'll make more more than doing (a) and (b), and you have to choose between doing (a) twice and doing (a) and (b). LucasArts is a business. Of course making the most amount of money on each release is their goal, that's why they aren't called a charity.
Now they seem to think they can only make money by rehashing yet another tired Star Wars game.
The problem with this complaint is that they are probably right! Who is in a better position to know how they can make money? If they can make more money from a Sam & Max than making Star Wars: Cantina Racer, don't you think they'd do it? They've been down both roads before, they know what the issues are a heck of a lot better than the peanut gallery on/. does!!
As much as I hate this, the fact probably is that a Star Wars title will automatically sell a huge number of copies, while a Sam & Max title will have to be both awesome and be agressively marketed to even come close to the number that the Star Wars title will automatically pre-sell.
Don't get me wrong - I have already sent my email to pr@lucasarts.com promising to buy an S&M title for the Mac, PS2, or XBox... it's just that I can hardly blame Lucasarts for choosing projects on the basis of how much money they will assuredly make. They, after all, are the ones whose pockets the losses would come out of.
That's the problem with mixing art and business - art will always suffer in the face of business realities. Success breeds mediocrity because the quest for excellence is risky.
As Joss Whedon summarized it,
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the road less traveled by and they CANCELLED MY FRIKKIN' SHOW. I totally shoulda took the road that had all those people on it. Damn."
IOW, you don't find the piles of cash on the road less travelled by.
Just a minor detail to mention here. Dolby licenses two different versions of their AAC codes. iTunes, when encoding for end users, uses the Dolby Consumer codec (affordably licensed by Apple in Quicktime 6). The Itunes Music Store uses the Dolby Professional codec (which would not be affordable to license in iTunes).
Thus, AACs coming out of the iTunes Music Store have a higher quality at the same compression rate than the same songs you rip and convert on your own copy of iTunes.
Sit in your car across the street, out of ID and camera range.
This is the terminal of PIT we're talking about here. You're not going to be able to get your car anywhere close to the range of the terminal's network - in fact, you have to take a rail car to get there from the ticketing counter.
American Express is the best card to use in cases like this - in disputes between card holders and merchants, they tend to heavily favor the card holder.
This is one of the reasons that a lot of merchants won't take American Express.
it relies on the app. GarageBand is not scriptable, for example, but iPhoto and iTunes have fairly decent scriptable functionality.
Yes and no - AppleScript is no longer so limited. It's not as nice as a fully scriptable application's interface is, but you can now use AppleScript to send GUI Events to any applications, allowing you to script previously unscriptable applications.
Ummm... are women even allowed to work in tech there? They aren't even allowed to drive cars. Heck, I don't even know to what extent they're allowed to work at all!

Then what's the singular of quanta, huh, smart guy?
It's quantum .

Perfect.
I mean, really. If this isn't an April Fool, this guy should not be having children.

Both were deemed satisfactory, the decision hinged on other factors.
That's according to insiders from VA Tech IT, at least.

I thought Microsoft's primary MMORPG was called, "Windows network security."
Right. Like, the opening credits for Enterprise is such a moment.
I can right click. What's wrong, are you missing a finger or something?

Why don't you just talk to Apple? Seems to me that they'd want to help.
For me, the most important feature would be being able to listen to Car Talk on my iPod - with wma, I won't have any use for the audio stream.
See the Apple article. It's muy bueno.
I use it to automatically start up the TiVo Desktop and set my audio preferences (which sometimes select the wrong output device).
Wow, you should learn COBOL. You'd love it.
I've used iChat with an iSight a bit over a cable modem to somebody at a university. It's worked pretty well. That's 30 fps.
You do, of course, need a Mac though.
[Additional agreement is not redundant, damn it!]
