also, i don't see why a cd i obviously BOUGHT has to have a program to check if i really did, not to mention that i probably feel to be entitled to my backups, rippings and eventual copies to my friends. all in all, it's just completely different.

  13. from the cradle... on EU Think Tank Urges Full Windows Unbundling · · Score: 1

schools need to be forced to use 2+ different os types. kids have fun and an easy time learning. it's not about banning microsoft, it's about reducing their grip they have in particulary every educational area. also, kids need to be thought neutrally, regardless the os they use. in the beginning they should be forced not to use the same pc (os) each time, but to switch (maybe first two years) and after that, they can decide themselves what they like best. in the end you got educated users, that can decide and think for themselves, whithout the need of DRACONIC (and i don't like microsoft at all) fines, just because they do what everyone else does more successfully.

technological change and acceptance starts in schools and maybe even in kindergartens and before that. not in 6 to 7 figure ceo seats.

    - the more intelligent a computer ai will be, the more logic flaws will unveil it's true nature... also if it would be supersmart with no flaws, most ppl will just kick the game in the nuts, for being more clever than they are. just play a round of etwq with bots and you will find yourself unsure if you're just playing with plain stupid noobs or real bots!

    - the harder the industry tries, the more it fails. sacrificing playabilty, gameplay and uniquness for the sake of realismn is a clear downer for fun in a game. also... the code gets unreadable for normal programmers and bugs will explode. i think the recent past shows that to us.

a plea to all game developers: FRIGGIN KICK REALSIM IF IT GETS IN THE WAY OF FUN!!! (sorry for allcaps, i thought this button has to be of use for something)

  16. conspiracy theory xxx on AMD Releases 900+ Pages Of GPU Specs · · Score: 1

i think it's a semi-smart move. they've lost market share to nvidia and probably won't be able to keep up with them technology wise. so it's their way to get some free look at some genuine open source drivers. using the community to get back into business. i think it's a little similar to what IBM does: being kicked in the ass by it's "little child" microsoft, they now try to get back at them through a movement that can't be stopped or buyed or whatever. they're all just using the open source community to their ends in my opinion.

what they don't seem to realize, is, that in the end they all won't matter. on the other hand, for the next few years it may work well for them and who cares, what's happening to their "old company", when they are already in pension, but that's another story...

  23. Re:a little anecdote... on Record Store Owners Blame RIAA For Destroying Music Industry · · Score: 1

it has been said before. you don't have a god given right to get money for something. it just happens to be convenient to give something for something, if it's not generally available. you wouldn't pay for rain or mushrooms you find in the forest either. point is, we all have to adopt one way or another. if you think it's a problem for 2 families not having a job any more (which they seem to blame on piracy, which they can't prove anyways), then think again. i think it's a problem, that there's a few ppl owning most of the world's wealth while the stock market dictates jobs of hundreds of thousands of ppl in an almost barley controllable fashion.

piracy is just a part of a bigger scheme that manifests in ppls minds since we all are feeling ripped of by rich and powerful folks. we all pay our taxes, homes, lives... but it has come harder and harder to afford. especially for all those without jobs. so what do you do, if you can't pay? why does it even matter? if i can't afford luxury in one way or another, i won't buy it, but what if i still own some of it? you can't say, just because someone didn't pay for a song he downloaded, it's lost money. if someone wouldn't be able to download it or copy it any other way, he most likely still wouldn't buy it.

i just wonder, if there will be a time, when organizations like the RIAA go to far and some ppl will kick them in the nuts for a change. laws are just man made and man errs. so we are about to change that... slowly. the sad thing is, that a few ppl will always have to pay dearly for that change.
