if my mom saw me come home with a shirt with the bsd daemon on it she would have flipped out that i had sold my soul to the devil regardless of how cute his sneakers were
sorry if i'm being callous or something, but I really thought that this was a flimsy article, the pictures could have probably been fetched from Google just as easily
I hate to look down on slashdot submissions, but this really is rather weak
i just called xbox tech support about this and asked them what would happen if i tried to sign on with a mod chip
the guys was really cool about it, he said that it "may or may not" work after i signed up
he asked what it was for, i told him the xbox linux project...he tells me that he's done that to his own xbox and that it works great, but that he'd never tell his boss about it =]
naa, i started using computers when i was 4 (C64 and sticky bear) and I see mto be a reasonable adult now. sure, all i want to do is work with computers, but simce it's gotten me a good job i can't complain
and at that age I didn't JUST use the computer: my mom still read to me, taught me my ABC's and 123's and by the time i hit kindergarden i was already at a 2nd rgade level.
At that age parents control the computer: let your kids experience it but in moderation and they'll be better for it technologically, but be sure to enrich them too
in public games you see a lot less of coordinated, useful use of the headset but in the Quake 3 Weapons factory clan that I am inout guys use voice chat extensively
defense and offense team on their own channels, all telling each other where the eneimes are and how to eliminate them. It's a lot faster than typing to say the least, and bandwidth is actually not very noticeable
newsweek had a similar story in last week's issue about more traditional brick 'n mortar grocery stores going online
the thing with them, though, is that they already have a ton of locations and are in no rush to scale up their web orders: they already are in the black on the retail front and want to slowly and cautiously roll out the web strategy
they also have an edge over the online start-ups through name recognition: it's a lot easier getting somebody who already shops at your store to try something new, rather than risk it on some company they've never heard of.
i couldn't find the link at the Newsweek site, but the issue may still be on shelves at stores around the country until monday or tuesday
i think it's about time for another world war...against Europe!...wait, bush is already starting to do this....is "The Chamber of Secrets" avaliable in Iraq?
precisely: my dad has gotten into downloading these movies through the various means but i just hate watching them. only two ways that i want to see a movie:
1) in the theatre, with big sound, good video, and a air-conditioned room and,
2) in my home theatre, with a pause button when i want a snack
however, i wouldn't discount suspicions that the movie biz leaks these movies themselves not only to get free press from it ( CNN will cover is as they are in bed with AOL/TW, and the others will probably do it too in the end) but these "constant" leaks will only provide more backing for any pending DMCA or other MPAA litigation
could it be?
MTV = No music, just fluff
MTV2 = Week-long rap marathons
MTV3 = Finn music?
There truly is nothing on.
it's called the iEye
however, usage of it does not need to be followed by the word "captain"
(if you dont find this funny then i'm sorry its 3am =[
anybody who quotes simpsons in any discussion is good in my book
is it a good thing that i'm rooting for AOL?
sorry about it, but you ARE the weakest link....etc. etc.
i'm behind sourceforge.kids.us
when 6 year olds begin releasing stuff that I am using on my BSD box I will be happy
this is like the recent Saturday night live "weekend update" bit where tina fey says
FEY: Scientists have discovered a gene which makes Onions water out eyes, creating the possibility for tearless onions
FEY: Hey guys, why don't you work on that whole CANCER thing...that's a bit more pressing, just put the onion project aside and CURE CANCER
/me crosses fingers that my packet detected ET
would i get modded up for that?

VERY good game
microsoft has never been a trusted partner in my mind....or on my computer

hehe, ok i'll laugh at my own fast typing and desire for inaccuracy
but consider this war! =]

it WILL kill me in my sleep
actually, i've had this corrected over and over by /.'tters but they both say it, just at different times
however my favorite actor out of the two would be morgan freeman, so i pick his version
