Most companies want software that people can come in and just use - they want support on that software to be available as and when they get problems. They want to know its been successfully deployed in other companies, but most of all want and need it to work well with Windows!

I speak only out of logic here, not facts, so take this as you will..

Most P2P programs which break down files into chunks would have some sort of hash on the individual chunks, which are compared to others or a central tracker (a la bittorrent) - you cant rename file and try to share them, as your data will continually be corrupted to other users.

Of course, the more basic P2P apps, like the old gnutella (& co) simply worked off the name and downloaded from a single user, whereby renaming would let you download rubbish, thinking it was something else!

eMule/Donkey/whatever has a has for the files and even if the filenames the same, if the hash doesnt match, that users file is not lumped in with all the others that do match - its returned as an extra result in the search box.

    Laymans terms, probably misunderstood:
They have an incredible mishmash of licenses between each source file, as each file can contain a message stating what license it is released under.
Theyve just created another which encompasses the binary distribution.
    The whole binary distribution.
Except the portions which had seperate licenses as specified by the source code.
But to check which those bits are, you would have to check each source file, and know what it does.

So I guess Mandrake have decided, probably in these exact words "F*CK THAT!"

It mapped out the current landscape, flipped it, then projected where they needed to go, all overlaid with what they could see!

Plug in a USB lead plugged into a computer, youve got a monitor.
Plug in a pre-filled memory-stick-with-battery, you've got a reuseable map.. Now theres a market right there, sticks with maps, tourist info..

Heck, you could make the battery and memory stick seperate, (have the battery removeable of course) allowing you to charge when you like, with different memory-sticks providing different functionality! Think digital cameras, think HUD's on army helmets, cars, etc
