No it wouldn't those employees would likely spend the $900 on wasteful items alcohol gambling etc a few years back a union backed government in Australia took a 20 billion dollar surplus and handed out $900 to each tax payer thinking they would do something good with it most of it ended up on alcohol and gambling the smarter people paid down their mortgages or credit card. The tradies who thought they would be doing house repairs well $900 doesn't buy much in that area so most people didn't bother. As for CEO getting those salaries faced with a difficult situation this would have to be offered to get them to try, knowing well that they may not be able to get a job for a year or two after certainly failing to save the company if they couldn't get enough concessions from the union

  2. Actually I think the patent office has a lot to answer to.

    1. They took money on the application and processing fee.

2.They claimed this was for due diligence to make sure you have the right to the patent

Additionally why do patent trolls pick this part of Texas? is the system a part of the local economy

From the article "Overall, there is a lot of agreement between the sexes" an looking at there table for good shows yes many in both columns are watched by my wife so I agree but a show like SATC is a girls show unless a guy wants a girls perspective or a little eye candy. this show tended to paint guys as useless and stupid not something as a male we want to see. As for awards There were a lot of good shows that never got awards or got cancelled yes on the list is Firefly in both male and females high rated columns

However yes women tend not to rate something bad unless it is really bad or its another women

Question how many men have been forced to sit through a show like SATC any then as revenge went online and rated it. How many women are forced to watch a male show? none we would rather watch it on our own and enjoy the experience without the resulting uncontrollable background chatter

Just a comparison many years ago TV and newspapers didn't accept ads that were annoying or unacceptable. now they do additionally they increased the ad rate on tv from 12 to 18 mins per hour and newspapers often have articles that are essentially ads for companies same goes for many "news stories" on tv. video rentals and sales increased because of it and now people have moved to streaming and downloading

Non profit journalism doesn't mean good journalism often its slanted in the view of the founder/owner the problem we have is multiple left or right wing mostly left though and alternative sites like www.newobserveronline.com which report stories that would be buried on mainstream sites because they offend minorities

Most news outlets are a copy of each other and the news travels so fast that everyone has the same story, news sites are like hotel comparison sites there is only one or two real sources

reporting the facts is gone in favour of journalism I'll repeat a comment I made before

I think when they started calling themselves journalists they knew they dropped quality :- note the definitions journal - Noun

    1. A newspaper or magazine that deals with a particular subject or professional activity.

    2. A personal record of occurrences, experiences, and reflections kept on a regular basis; a diary.

    report - Noun

    1. An account presented usually in detail.

    2. A formal account of the proceedings or transactions of a group.

Journalists give personal opinions Reporters give detailed facts

Newspapers used to be for the educated and people who wanted to be educated now they are mostly drivel targeted at the masses that 100 years ago would not have had an education and barely have one today

Parents are another part lower income parents have less time as they are working multiple jobs to survive to involve themselves in the students teaching and if the wealthier parent doesn't have the time they can hire a tutor.

Although this is limited to stats for NSW schools showed the number 2 dropped 6 places this year while catholic schools in the area picked up why tutored for exam students entering that selective high school should not be there the students who should be there moved into the local Catholic schools and are still thriving raising the average there

then we have ethnic values Asians value education more than Non English speaking Europeans etc all the way down to aussie bogans and american rednecks. Now education will drive up IQ to a point but it does not mean the educated are smart creative thinkers this is something inherent in your genes and upbringing
