    I don't see why that's too bad. People using Direct Connect are logged as well via Search Spy. One particular client StrongDC++ ( http://snail.pc.cz/StrongDC/ ) even tells you who's searching for what by nick and IP. IMO that's much worse than just logging what people search for.

    And the service is terrible. The server is constantly "down for maintenance" and when it's up it's hard to find what you really want, if the artist is even in the database. The majority of the songs are the popular ones, as one would guess, and it's difficult to get local bands added because there's very little contact between the students and the server admins.

    To top it all off, UR cracked down on a pretty large hub that existed. napster? boooooo
