Office pboxes. I just got a call from my aunt who called form 973-000-0001 (973 is a New Jersey area code). If they have their caller ID tags screwed up, or even spoofed, it'll show up that way.
Here's a service which does it for a fee...

Let them. I along with so many die hard Star Trek fans have alreaedy written it off as the child that never was. But if they want to support it in full, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to. What boggles the mind is nobody's talked about cancelling Andromeda yet, which was my favorite show up until these past 2 seasons.
My guild is on one of them. It's total crap that they expect us to all get up and move to another server when we've made up to level 21's (highest on the server), or wait the past 3 days getting this to work, only to hear from them that our guild was dissolved anyways and we'd have to remake it (at the cost of only 10s, but 1g per guild tabbard). Unacceptable. We've been playing (about 50 of us) ever since closed beta, and NEVER had a problem in closed beta, stress test, or open beta. Now launch comes, and they do this crap.
Isn't this bookended side-ways toolbar stacking just the same thing as the current windows toolbar? I find it a bit confusing myself to have to turn my head to the side and quickly read off the window titles. Also, while I'm at work and haven't downloaded the beta just yet, I'm wondering how this custom shell will screw up my games... I know I haven't had much luck with ObjectDock/Litestep.

All the old sleep therapy techniques apply to geeks too:
1) don't eat food/drink caffeine close to bedtime 2) don't put TV/'puter in bedroom, bedroom is for sleeping 3) excercise daily 4) always go to bed at the same time every night regardless of tiredness
Do any of us actually follow this though? I don't heh.

Regardless of sender/receiver transmission laws or digital rights/security issues, publically broadcasting classified and internal documents of our armed forces can be construed as a breech of national security. I doubt once this hits the major newslets (as of/. wasn't major enough) this website will be shut down, and he will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I thought I'd just find pictures, but there are security details, parts/order lists, confidential call numbers... this guy should/will hang.
I'm asking all the science geeks out there (I'm a geek, just not a astronomy geek) to help me answer, what if this massive sunspot zit thing burst? What is the worst case scenario of all that solar wind?
I paid over $3000 for a P-90w/64mb of ram back when it was the top of the line... now you can get a top of the line computer for roughly half that. The bleeding edge price of computer hardware has been dropping steadily, so by the time we need all that computing power, it'll cheap enough to own.
I boycott ALL forms of Stargate (re-runs and derivatives) because of Sci-Fi's decision to spend their money on this vs. keeping their #1 at the time watched show, Farscape. So I won't be watching Atlantis when it comes out.
6.5" 16:9 Aspect Ratio Screen
20gb, 40gb, 80gb, flavors ($599, $699, $799)
Compact flash support (so you can dump pics from a digicam card STRAIGHT onto the MEC, i.e. if you're on a vacation and need a lot of pic space but only have one card)
TV-out
~4.5 hour battery life
I set my father up with a Gmail invite to a Hotmail account as of last night 11pm EST. It doesn't mean that you can't send the invites as IMs to your webmail-restricted friends.
By using all of these (including a BIOS scheduled powerup at 5am), you can have control over when you wish to wipe the main partition. You could schedule a weekly image dump, or whenever they called with a problem VNC in(the image dump and reboot shouldn't take more than an hour), and you could give them free reign over the system otherwise, so they could install their own games, or download all the spyware/virii they wish.
Steam works and although I had my reservations about it originally, I kinda love it. I like not having to d/l the latest HL and CS patches to play, and it's great now that they've worked out most of the bugs in the integrated IM/matching client. If this service becomes anything like it, AND they have a software base which is worth buying... they can consider me as another customer.
Multiple accounts each with access to their own protected userspaces. Also, it's easy to upgrade, and if you're on campus, you might already qualify for your university's WindowsXP/2000 site-license. Meaning it's free for you, and you're running an OS which is still officially supported.

I'm a researcher with Google Answers and it's never a must that we use Google to answer questions that come in. Actually, for one-off's and questions which I know can be answered with a phone call or two, I won't even bother with the internet. Of course, then again, there was that one time I called over a hundred different restaurants to see who was serving on Christmas Day. Hah.
When are they coming to the East Coast??? I'm 15 mins outside New York, but I'd gladly drive up to Boston in order to enjoy this concert.

A while back there were rumors of a Snow Crash movie. Which, if any, stage of production is it currently, and will you consider writing a sequel?
