One thing that catches my eye in this article is the mention of the UI in some applications not being usable at higher reslutions.
I use OS X, and I love the big shit. Make dialog boxes and buttons BIG (with the option, of course, to make them any fucking size I want). I hate that the dock cannot grow larger than what it's current largest setting when I run the cursor over it.
Oh, and an indicator to tell the user when kGNUUptzip495.0003 (or what ever *nix app you're using at the time) isn't responding would be nice. My experience with Linux has been major freeze ups for several seconds/minutes while you're sitting there wondering WTF? --Sorta' like my sitting here checking my bank accounts/Slashdot on Saturday night ???:/
Is it time to bring out the April Fools Day Tree yet?
Should I start opening the April Fools Day gifts?
Serious question: Will this bit work over Carrier Pigeon?
And one other thought, will Windows2003Server recognize it? Oh...they'll have to release the Service Pack because anything set to 0 won't get through because of a buffer overflow extension illegal operation segfault doo-hickey.
I remember one of Ambrosia SW's selling points used to be that they made shareware for the Mac only. This, believe it or not, was one of the ways they poured on loyalty from the Mac community. I think it's great that they're still in business and branching out.
If you've never played one of the three Escape Velocities, you're in for a treat.
BTW, isn't there an Escape Velocity linux clone, or is that of Maelstrom I'm think of?
Er... you mean Macs have right-clicking ability now?
Get your head out of your ass.
Despite the stupid-ass mice Apple ships, OS X has right-click out of the box, and I've been using a two-button mouse with 9 for years (you had to install an extension, but hey).
Um, okay. Maybe I've been out of the loop when it comes to Linux/NTFS compatibility. I thought we were still kinda' afraid to write to NTFS partitions. Now we can resize them.
I hope mine never figures that out, or I'll never get to watch Enterprise - I'll be punished with a TiVo full of Ed, Friends, and Anna Nicole. The horror!
Don't even get me started on Changing Rooms and Will & Grace, ughh. But it's nice always having The Man Show avaliable when friends are over:)
I am sure that after you spend all that money on one of those suckers... you'll be glad you're saving all that gas money
That's a good point, our governments need to step in and subsidize these hydbrid and electric cars so they are cheaper than gas-guzzler-real cars. That might make Joe Schmo and Nick go out and actually buy one.
Oh, and I'm sorry, this car looks stupid too. Why can't they make the fskers look like real cars?
"...It used the hard disk (I could hear the disk running) but when it tried to decompress something (couldn't tell what) it kernel panics with a really cool error message saying that lower memory address such-and-such was being overwritten by higher address so-and-so. It needs more RAM...."
I don't mean to wander offtopic here, but is there an open source package out there that will run a tv station? Something that'd be great as PVR but clockable as a broadcast station too?
I'm looking into getting to Amateur TV, and this looks like a great way to run a broadcast:)

Any other cliches missed?
Quit your bitching and get a DI. ;)
In all seriousness, laser is the way to go. Just not from Lexmark apparently.
And yes, I know AS/400 and the like aren't Unix.
Real MCSE's know that real main frames run Windows2000 Server!
Unix is just DOS with funny application names (ga-new what?)

It really is time to make a new space vehicle. Is it really that hard to perform a horizontal take off and get into orbit with the same vehicle?
I do it in X-Place all the time, but I know it's hard to put 999,999,999 for all the engine specs in real life.
Um, okay. Maybe I've been out of the loop when it comes to Linux/NTFS compatibility. I thought we were still kinda' afraid to write to NTFS partitions. Now we can resize them.
Can someone please elaborate?
Enjoy freedom before it's gone?

I especially love the anarchy files. "Wahahhahah!" There's also great commentary about the whole BBS scene.

I can hear the computerish monotone right now:
"Would you like to play a nice game of Global Thermonuclear Warfare?"
Draw.

Everybody's making money off that new movie...damnit!
I pulled up the .jp site to see what it looked like real quick, and the first thing I saw was:
Microsoft Windows XP??????????[six lines of 'junk characters' removed for lameness filter']
I think I'll pass on this one.
So, do I need to download all three discs, or will they let me get away with one, like Mandrake and Debian do?
This isn't a troll. I'd truly like to know...
It's not available on any mirrors or the ftp.redhat.com site.

Downloading it right now. Check the
This should have been an article on drive noise.

All your NTSC DVDs oughta look good on HDTV's. I realize HDTV is different than Digital TV, but you get the point.
I tell people they are so stupid to build a collection with current DVDs.
