Well,I got as far as the second sentence where it mentions racing a Honda Civic and I can't read anymore. My brain has activited it's "Fast and the Furious" automatic defense system. I'll try again when I'm drunk enough.
I picked one of the up last year and it looks like it would be pretty tough to do the mod you were mentioning. The controller, apart from containing most of the circuitry that adjusts motor timing either senses or emits IR light (I'm not sure which) in order to keep positional track of the Vectron. I guess it was set up this way to simplify flying the rotating craft. When you press left on the controller it tilts to the left regardless of where in the rotation it is. It's an amazing toy that's pretty fun to play around with indoors, but useless outside unless the air is completely still.
I'm not sure if you have the additional DTivos yet but if not you can use your future wiring to pipe video from the two in your living room to each TV. I've got a similar setup. (2 DTivos in the living room + multiple TVs in others) All you need to do is run a modulator off of each TIVO's output and combine the 2 wires with a reversed splitter. You *might* need to amplify at your structured wiring box before splitting off to each room. Once it is set up, just tune any remote TV to the channel set on the modulator and you'll be all set. The great thing about modulators is that you can watch any video source on any TV in the house at the same time. Try that with a switchbox! Since there's only 2 people under my roof, two DTivos are all we need for now. Modulators can be had for as cheap at $25 for a single mono RF, or above $300 for a multiple stereo RF one. If you only use 2 video sources you can get by with only using one modulator by using the default channel 3/4 on one of the sources.
Even if a revolutionary change is made in the future it would be hard for a new technology, no matter how advanced, to match up with what we have now. Iy might have the potential to exceed current tech, but it would take time to refine.
Assuming that the car doesn't rotate, and stays horizontal, the individuals would actually experience a low relative air pressure that would keep them in the car. Try putting a piece of paper on top of a book (making sure that the paper doesn't extend past any edges) and dropping it book first. Neat huh?
Since an espresso maker turns the water into steam, which escapes through the top of the water tank, wouldn't all of the caffeine stay as residue in the tank? I've made super-charged coffee with Water Joe and a regular brewer with tingly results.
>>the cost of time & effort to download the DIVx Files and burn them to CD($40/hr *3)
Counting download/burn times as lost pay seems kinda silly. For most people it should only take a couple of minutes to queue everything. Do you consider watching the finished movie as "($40/hr *1.5?)" as well?
I think he means, if the cars behind you are bumper-riding, It won't matter if you have time to stop. They'll slam into you anyway and possibly cause you to hit whatever is in front.
I think it's going to be really strange to jump from EP3 to EP4, especially for someone who hasn't seen the later episodes yet. The action and intensity during the fight scenes of EP1 and EP2 far outmatch the "Old geezers dance" between Darth and Obi One during EP4. Even worse the special effects are going to seem diluted when I watch the end story. I'll always like the entire series, but it'll seem backwards to me to go from high tech (EP1-3) to low tech (EP4-6)
Wow, The above post actually makes a good point and was modded down as flamebait, while that parent is +5 insightfull? I've only got 6 Karma, but it's worth burning just to say that this is the worst use of Karma I've seen yet here at Slash!
How on earth are we going to back-up a drive full of that much information? I really doubt that we will have DVD capacities of greater then 30 gigs in the next 5 years. If I bought a second Tera-drive, what interface is out there that can copy that much info over to it in a timely manner?
I can't help but feel that the spread levels of tech understanding (consumer product wise) might actually shrink as time goes on. My folks never grew up with computers, so there's a large gap between their and my understanding of tech. Since pretty much the majority of people growing up now and in the past 5 years had been exposed to computers, there's no large gap between generations on Tech/NoTech.
I've always wondered if a lot of the "older games are better" feelings are caused by people either reminicing about their younger gaming days or simply enjoyed them more because they were younger. I remember having a great time playing NES games, but when I play them nowadays they don't pack as much punch as I had remembered.
For an original game, try calling your barber a pansie and see what fun adventure can be had!
I think the answer they are looking for is 42.

Someone please mod the above post up. He makes a lot a good points.

Which is great until the shelf breaks, and little giblets of your computer go skeetering all over the place.

Should the focus of the story be on the chips? I always thought selling pirated games were frowned upon more then using mod chips?

Every time I saw his name a couldn't get that damn Spiderman theme song out of my head.
Man. I wish I had some mod points. That was the funniest thing I've seen all week!

I wonder if the cat choked on a lego?
Poor guy. He can't hack into E-bay, defend himself in court, and probably won't be able to hang on to the soap.

First we had crackers and hackers, now here comes a new breed. Shelaqers! (Ones that coat the DVDs with a fluid to prevent destruction.)

Looks like Slashdot made JR's server it's bitch. (reference to ION Storm's lousy ad campaign)
I'd be running one of these, and my wife'll pound on the door complaining that she can't get the oven hot enough.
Akira comes to mind. That focusing space laser thingy gave me the heebie-jeebies.
