  1. What? No Wii? on Bionic Commando Returns · · Score: 1

They REALLY need to make a Wii version of this. The Wii remote is perfect for this sort of thing (think Double Clawshot from Zelda: Twilight Princess). Besides, a Wii version would sell like hotcakes, especially if they hyped it up by releasing the original NES Bionic Commando to the Virtual Console prior to the new game's release.

heh! I think that's the first IN SOVIET RUSSIA joke that actually means something. The USA landing on the Moon first pretty much won the space race. The Soviet Union had a decent (if careless and hasty) space program, but failing to reach the Moon before the Americans was a big blow to their image.

So when my 3D becomes 4D, does this mean I do extra damage? No, it mostly stays the same. It goes from 3D8 to 4D6. I guess your minimum damage would go up by 1, but in most cases that won't matter.
  6. Re:But what does that mean? on Time Dimension To Become Space-like · · Score: 1

If time becomes space-like, what would that mean for us? The "flux capacitor" prop they built for Back to the Future will start to work. Would we be able to transverse time as easily as space? Yes. Would time itself become irrelevent as we could look "forwards"? Yes. Will the cubs win the world series? No. These important questions have to be answered!

    Done.

I got a TI-59 off ebay a few years ago for like $10. It works great in my dimly-lit home office. I think it was hardly used because it looks new. The magnetic card reader/writer still works perfectly. It works so well that I bought another one as a backup for about the same price, also seems new.

I rebuilt the dead battery pack with batteries from a cordless phone battery pack and it runs forever. I really like the glowing red displays of old calculators. Much easier on the eyes than LCD in dim lighting.

  21. Re:Sprint PPC-6700 on Smartphone Shootout · · Score: 1

I managed to snag one of these a few weeks ago when Sprint dropped the price to $100 after rebate. Only one store in my area had any left, and I got the last one. :) My Treo 650 was starting to show its age, so got the PPC-6700. So far, quite happy. It doesn't feel as solid as the Treo, but the keyboard is much more usable. I discovered the community and installed a custom ROM and everything works great. One of these days, I'll get a bluetooth GPS receiver.

I'm no Microsoft fan, but PocketPC/Windows Mobile is okay, and Live Search is great. I've had several Handheld/Pocket PCs in the past, and I guess they've got most of the kinks worked out.

I'll second the tethering comment. The PPC-6700 is one of the last EVDO phones that you can use to get around having to pay for Sprint's "phone as modem" plan add-on. All the high-speed-data phones made since have 2 ESNs, one for phone, one for data, and it switches over to the data ESN when in tethered mode and if you don't have that modem plan, it won't work. The 6700 only has one ESN and Sprint can't tell if you're surfing on the phone or tethering. Works great for my laptop and Nokia N800 :)
