    well i wasn't really talking about hacks, more like efficent and optimised code - which isn't the same as l33t hacking.

    this reflects the problem with a lot of development these days, people like the above say why bother optimising? why bother making things efficient? we have plenty of bandwidth / CPU cycles to play with. and thus we have bloatware. makes ya wanna weep.

    i suppose the idea is, if no one can see it it won't make any money and so it wouldn't be produced in the fist place. i doubt it'd stop it though.

    i was wondering that, i run OS6 on my SEs and thats slow enough. if OS7 could run on an SE (and i'm unsure of that) it would not be fun ;)


    ah, looking at everymac's page for the SE it could run up to 7.5.5. shudder at the slowness of that!

    oh i love my job (web design) and do something similar for a hobby but i don't want to do work at home, 37.5 hours is enough time to be on call.

    i never understand why some people are happy to work at home, it blurs the distinction between your time and the company's time to the extent where there may no longer be a distinction.

    similarly the google results didn't include the amount of time to go to where your computer is, boot it up, start a web browser et cetera.

    a good computer shouldn't require you to know how it works, similarly a decent car shouldn't require you to know how to fix it (by not breaking down). as well as being a geek's best friend a computer is also a tool

    it didn't grab me as being that useful, i couldn't get the product thing to work or the URL preview. what did work was slow and not very user friendly.

    So it can highlight sentences of a webpage at a time and display them as large type. I must admit I am rather underwhelmed by this paradigm shift.

    the problem is, the camera takes pictures when IT wants to AFAICS. imagine the annoyance when you get home and find the camera didn't take any pix of that cute girl in the tight top.

    Most of the other design features also sound more like bunch of men were having a laugh as to what a woman wants in a car... like being able to colour-coordinate with your clothes


    my wife likes the fact the seats and interior of my car are black, it goes with anything!
