this reflects the problem with a lot of development these days, people like the above say why bother optimising? why bother making things efficient? we have plenty of bandwidth / CPU cycles to play with. and thus we have bloatware. makes ya wanna weep.
i never understand why some people are happy to work at home, it blurs the distinction between your time and the company's time to the extent where there may no longer be a distinction.
a good computer shouldn't require you to know how it works, similarly a decent car shouldn't require you to know how to fix it (by not breaking down). as well as being a geek's best friend a computer is also a tool
the babylonians also had a story about a man being warned about a great flood by the gods and he built a large boat for his family and animals so survive the deluge that was about to flood the earth. hmm sounds familiar;)
i've posted a screenshot in another post in this topic.
it didn't grab me as being that useful, i couldn't get the product thing to work or the URL preview. what did work was slow and not very user friendly.
the problem is, the camera takes pictures when IT wants to AFAICS. imagine the annoyance when you get home and find the camera didn't take any pix of that cute girl in the tight top.
all the hot chicks i see when walking around the campus i work at i can now record for prosperity and keep for later..uh... analysis, instead of trying to remember them all. bring it to market ASAP!!
Most of the other design features also sound more like bunch of men were having a laugh as to what a woman wants in a car... like being able to colour-coordinate with your clothes
my wife likes the fact the seats and interior of my car are black, it goes with anything!
well i wasn't really talking about hacks, more like efficent and optimised code - which isn't the same as l33t hacking.

i suppose the idea is, if no one can see it it won't make any money and so it wouldn't be produced in the fist place. i doubt it'd stop it though.
ah, looking at everymac's page for the SE it could run up to 7.5.5. shudder at the slowness of that!
imagine you are wearing a skirt? you are addressing a slashdot audience you know?
oh i love my job (web design) and do something similar for a hobby but i don't want to do work at home, 37.5 hours is enough time to be on call.

the worst is my friend who always insists on using Ask Jeeves...
similarly the google results didn't include the amount of time to go to where your computer is, boot it up, start a web browser et cetera.

yeah but what if Firefox is renamed Firethighs, then you'd be in trouble.

So it can highlight sentences of a webpage at a time and display them as large type. I must admit I am rather underwhelmed by this paradigm shift.
it was probably vapourised by the slashdot effect
shouldn't that be "how many other slashdot geeks can claim they have a girlfriend"?

so if you have a welded shut bonnet you can't even hope a roadside recovery mechanic can fix it.
so you pay the TV licence then even though you don't have a TV?
