I believe the next push will be to get extensions running on Chrome for Android. The major intent being to get Chrome Remote Desktop running on Android, allowing for TeamViewer-style remote control (NAT-traversal et al) of Windows, Mac and Linux boxes from your Android device. This can obviously be done already with third-party apps like TeamViewer or Splashtop; but this would bring it in-house and make it an OS feature.
As a side note, Splashtop used to use Google servers for NAT traversal. They released version 2 right before Chrome for Android came out of beta, which removes the reliance on Google servers. When they did that, I predicted that it was because Google was muscling-in on their turf.
I still believe that to be the case.
He has been refining MDMA and trying to extract it from local flora. Large doses of MDMA over prolonged periods can (usually does, from what I know of it) cause serious paranoia. The type of paranoid that makes you see things that aren't there. Shadows in the corners of your eyes, everyone's out to get you type of paranoia.
He did this under a veil of secrecy and lies, duping Harvard researchers into signing-off on his drug hunt disguised as a cure to various disease. If you're not finding him suspicious, then you're not reading the articles that are quite clear on his recent history.

"History
The Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS) was created in 1941 to access and exploit OSINT in relation to World War II. A classic example of their value and success is reflected in the price of oranges in Paris as an indicator of whether railroad bridges had been bombed successfully."
You don't need to be running Chrome. It installs a service if you want to set it up for remote access on demand. Same for Mac installs. The first time I used this I installed it to do some remote Mac admining from a Windows box without proper means to do so otherwise, and it worked a charm.
So far I'm not a fan of Version 2. They've detached themselves from Google servers and I know why they did it.
Google just released Chrome Remote Desktop, which is a VERY fine replacement for TeamViewer-type implementations.
Surely Google will add this to Android's Chrome stack and then it's truly game on for all of these me-too NAT-traversing, competing remote desktop applications.
Interesting times ahead in this space.
Apparently thomasw_lrd is an idiot.
"the main UI restricts users to a single window, so the product ought to be renamed "Microsoft Window."
When he refers to the main UI thomas, he's referring to the one that launches at startup, not that legacy application they call "Desktop."
What in the holy hell are you on about? The Classic Shell logo looks nothing like any logo I've ever seen. In what way is it possibly infringing on whom's IP?
Wow. First of all, I'm not sure what would make something "officially the stupidest," is there a panel of judges for this sort of thing?
Secondly, where did he say "is the only thing preventing the murder?" I read his post again, and honestly, I can't find it.
If you're going to go around labeling posts as "stupidest" you might want to have something intelligent to say, or at least something coherent.
You are a complete tool, please stay away from slashdot. Thank you.
Yeah, you were onto something there until you went full-in on the trolling:
"these PC using trolls seem obsessed with it. Do you see mac users talking incessantly about it? No, because mac users come from all walks of life and most of them are grown up people living on their own instead of little trolls living in their mother's basements obsessed with anal rape and apple users."
You're a total tool. Besides the fact that your comments are an obvious troll (if it's not obvious to you, then you're less intelligent than you give yourself credit for); you do it while claiming your 'side' doesn't troll? Jesus.
You think Apple users don't troll? Go look at what's happened to Engadget. Look at any Android post on just about ANY tech blog and the Apple trolls come out in droves.
I remember this topic coming up on/. about eight years ago or so... it's a nifty idea; but it'll go nowhere.

Next step is to make a pilot-optional UAV fighter with an armed jet-packed pilot. Something like the guy that just jettisoned across the Grand Canyon, but take that tech further, and make it more compact. Then of course you could outfit the pilot with the ability to fly the UAV while he's flying himself to safefy, or dropping himself quickly behind enemy lines. The pilot's arms would house another micro-UAV attack drone on each, which he could deploy while in the air, jettisoning himself about; to distract or target any bogeys that might lock on him or his larger UAV. Round this all out by making the whole package small enough to be launched from a larger, possilby pilot-optional craft with one or two under each wing. THEN we're talking. Pilot-optional UAVs all the way down.
Until Linksys, D-Link, Netgear, et al get their collective heads out their arses, these types of tools are great for pen testing small business networks.
Personally, I can't wait for the Android app; maybe I could hack one together and get it out there...
Yeah, and for the amount of extra hardware you have to lug around for this "hack," you might as well just pick-up an old zaurus or something considerably more apt(no pun) in delivering a remote terminal.
Yes, it was funny when it made the top page of Reddit. It was funnier when they acknowledged it on the Comedy Central blog. It will be the ultimate insult to GB and Fox WHEN Stephen gets about 1M more people there than Glen did.
Why has noone speculated on a possible Pixel Qi screen? http://www.pixelqi.com/
They have supposedly been ready to ship for a couple months now and plenty of prototypes are floating around. There's no way any of the PQ girls and guys would let it slip out, since this would be their first actual product launch. They wouldn't do anything to jeopardize their image, and the LACK of rumors of a Pixel Qi screen makes me think I'm on to something (in the sense that this rock keeps away tigers, as I haven't seen one since i've had this rock...).
The Phillips head screwdriver is inferior to TORX heads any day of the week. Standardization causes stagnation sometimes. Not everything needs to be a government controlled standard, and to do so would destroy research and development in too many segments of industry.
That being said, I appreciate Korea's stand on making all charges USB compatible. This is doing wonders for electronics consumers the world over.
A reminder to all you Hackintoshers out there... Apple CAN pull the plug on you anytime they want to.
This was just Steve letting you know that he knows what you're doing.
Correction: not when Chome came out of beta, when Chrome Remote Desktop came out of beta... Preview is a good thing, when you use it...

Same. This morning, and anywhere from 2-10 times per week for the past couple years.
Awesome! When can I buy your laptop for $109?

How do you feel Drobo compares to Synology? I would have suggested a DS212j since he's on a budget. Any thoughts?

Not a dupe, the old article was about him trying to bring this thing to market. He's now selling these to anyone with the cash.
