  1. Ummmm..... on Slashback: Stapler, Interface, Gaming · · Score: 1

"this could possibly rate video game players as better drivers"

Highly dubious. I play video games all the time (and I'm pretty damn good at it too) and I've gotten in 3 accidents and gotten 2 speeding tickets. I'm 17. One of my accidents was running into a bus full of cheerleaders, btw.

  2. Star Wars Galaxies? on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic · · Score: 1

    From the article:

"it looks like this one has got all the right ingredients to make not only one of the best RPGs ever, but the definitive Star Wars title."

How can Star Wars Galaxies not be called the deifnitive Star Wars game? KotOR is set 4000 years before the familiar Star Wars tales! Galaxies is set in the middle trilogy's era. I think that would "immerse them directly in the world they longed to be part of".

  3. ......wait a second..... on Serious IIS Hole; Minor X Bug · · Score: 1

  4. Let's see...... on Games in High School? · · Score: 1

We've held Half-Life: Counter-Strike tournaments and Quake III: Arena tournaments at my high school, but last year the administration shut them down because they were "too violent". We used both school computers (mostly dual Celerons) in the Computer Systems Lab running Linux for Quake III, and those brought from home for the Half-Life tourneys. The current LAN gaming at my school now occurs in the network administration class, where we are encouraged to play network games, e.g. Diablo, Starcraft, Descent, and Quake.

  5. Is it possible? on New Internet2 Land Speed Record · · Score: 1

For larger gap to emerge between the current consumer internet (dial-up, dsl, cable) and a new form of Internet? I can see one (the current) becoming a lowlier, cheaper, seedier, less secure, internet "underground" if you will, and a new one emerging that's faster, more standardized and secure, but more expensive, and used by high-class citizens and businesses. Any thoughts?

  8. Star Wars = Better Spent Time Than High School on So Did the Hordes Really Skip out for Episode 2? · · Score: 1

Lord knows I learned a hell of a lot more by seeing Star Wars then going to physics class. When I came in late, one of my teachers asked "how was it?" (he knew). I said that my doctor's appointment had "amazing special effects".

  9. Excuse me.... on Cingular Filtering Porn From Wireless Web? · · Score: 1

But why the fuck in the first place are people looking at porn on their cell phone???? Do people know when enough is enough? Honestly I jack off at least 3-5 times a day (not healthy, I know, but I'm a teenager, get over it) but I don't go THAT far to get my freakin' porn. Aye Carumba.

  12. Plagiarizing on Encoding DNA as Music for Copyrighting? · · Score: 0, Redundant

You should be able to copyright sequences you made entirely yourself. But if you use any part of any other DNA sequence that already exists in the world, you should be accused of plagiarizing God's work. The work of God should not be copyrighted.

  14. teenagers, certs, and jobs? on IT Certifications Summary · · Score: 4, Insightful

Hey, I'm 16. Hypothetically speaking, would anybody give someone my age a job if they had some certs? I mean not like a bench-tech at CompUSA for your A+, but like a Novell admin (or even like an apprentice) with a Network+, CNA, CNE, and CISSP (and of course experience). If I could scrounge up the money, I could pass the A+, Network+, CNE, CNA, MCP, and (with a little studying) CISSP. I have experience to back it up, so don't whip the "no experience" card out on me. So all it boils down to is: should I get some certs and look for an IT job, or not waste my time (and money) and just get a normal teenager job?

  18. Here's the deal on Review Of Netflix DVD Rental Service · · Score: 0

I got NetFlix when it started more than a year ago. It was great. The problem is, that it took at least three days for any dvd to come to my house. This was because I'm on the east coast and they're based on the west coast. People on the west coast will be getting a very good deal, as you can get the dvd you order in usually under two days. I cancelled my service because I'm a filmaholic and could watch a dvd a day (and without my fix man, I get withdrawal symptoms!)
