Hmm.. So you're saying that IBM is evil as long as it doesn't have HAL. But its pretty obvious that HAL is "evil" by the common definition. If IBM gains HAL (so that IBM-HAL isn't valid), will they suddenly become less evil? Why? Is there some undiscovered anti-evilness force?
There's also that *6. I dunno what to make of that one. Maybe IBM's lack of HAL will only make it evil if IBM splits into 6 different companies or grows to be 6 times its current size?
Just curious: if you stop the install, can you still listen to the songs and such?

On the rare occasions that I'm in Windows, I like to use a Blackbox for Windows skin without a taskbar. In those occasions, tabbed browsing is a godsend, as it is in Linux in Blackbox (but tabbed browsing is pretty much a standard feature on Linux).
Ah. But see, that's because any preview videos released to anyone were really the programmers dressed up as Duke Nukem characters. I mean, 7 years isn't nearly enough to make a game capable of producing a demo!
Hmm.. Fresh install of Firefox on a Mandrake workstation at work here has Edit->Preferences. Maybe Firefox checks for a profile and settings first and puts it in Tools->Options if it a profile exists or something?
You'll be glad to know that its in Edit->Preferences in.9RC. I personally liked it in Tools->Options and am now rather annoyed that its no longer there. Hopefully someone will come up with an extension to restore its old behavior.
How do you define real? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then real is simply electricalsignals interpreted by your brain.
So that's what they're calling porn nowadays...:-)

However, after the server exploded due to Slashdotting and started a huge fire resulting in the destruction of his house, the neighborhood, and most of LA, the total cost of the trip was estimated at 8.5 billion USD.
Your old version of Dungeon Keeper (if its DK1, not DK2) probably has a DOS version on the CD (mine did). You can install said DOS version and run it (definitely) in Dosbox or (possibly) in Dosemu. It probably won't run too fast, but it should work.
Unfortunately, an email was sent in early April from someone on I2 to the RIAA and the MPAA. Since then, or possibly since i2hub was posted on Slashdot, both organizations have had spiders running on the networks. A good friend of mine at my university recently recieved a letter from the network admins telling him that the MPAA had given them a list of illegal material (TV shows aren't illegal, are they?) that he was sharing. They asked him to stop sharing it and he said he did. That was about 2 weeks ago. Yet to see what'll happen.
I was really upset about the Rare sale at first, but after playing Rare's last (or almost last?) offering for the Gamecube, Starfox Adventures, I kinda understood Nintendo's decision. That game basically took a big smelly dump on the entire Starfox series. Definitely no where near Rare's quality of games for the N64.
On the other hand, Perfect Dark 2 wouldn't have been a bad thing to have on the GC...
I think kernel 2.4.18 was before the ACPI4Linux project's full source was integrated into the kernel. Prior to whenever that happened, the kernel's ACPI implementation sucked horribly. Now it sucks a bit less.
You should try patching the kernel with their patches, although older versions are kinda hard to find it looks like.
Novel picked up ownership of Evolution when they bought ximian, the developer of Evolution, at the end of last summer. Since then they've also bought SuSE.
Whoa. I stand corrected. First time I missed a joke on slashdot, to my knowledge :-(
Except for that it's not a true statement... Funny mods don't improve your karma.

The actual guy that submitted the story was killed? How can you tell? He didn't give his name in the submition.
I don't see why not. It's worked for Microsoft!

I always thought that farming was the oldest profession ;-)
Of course, chicken farming! Some people raise over a thousand cocks a year.

Caaaareful... That almost sounded like you didn't worship at the Shrine of Apple. That's dangerous thinking there, lad.
There's a zip of Mozilla for windows here.
Right click on the button toolbar and click Customize, then check the "Small Icons" checkbox, and they should be back to being small and compact.

ALso note that you can now get 12 GB GF cards.
Do these cards require a Blade Server-style plugin deal? If so, which way to they plug in, and what "ports" are on the open side?

Childhood: Oooh! Free toys!
Late elementary school: I'm a big boy and can buy toys with my own allowance instead of fully depending on mommy and daddy.
Middle School: Oooh! Free softwarez!
High School: I can afford to buy a few commercial programs so I no longer need to be like those pirates.
College: Oooh! Free software! Free music! Free movies! Free games! Free beer! Free sex!
linux distros. Lots of ... linux distros!
