I haven't canceled my Yahoo either. I'm not quite ready to receive my mail directly but I've switched my important stuff to softhome.net and letting the spam fill up my un-POPable Yahoo account.
No, because I occasionly get a phone call from my girlfriend or my mom among the 5 crap calls. I screen some of calls with my answering machine, but all that ringing is still annoying! BTW, all that is just in the evening! If I'm home in the daytime, it's even worse!
Indivdual consumer(s) are PO's about giving his/their live history to grocery stores for a $0.02 discount on a few items. The problem is that, judging from the looks I get from clerks when I say I don't have a card, I might be the only one!
Does Lycoris qualify? I've never tried it, but I've heard that it's very newbie friendly, at the cost of flexibility. And I'm sure most/.rs would say it sux, but maybe their grandparents and "Aunt Millie" would like it.
Well, my story isn't that bad, but once at work, we'd been recieving warning about a certain virus for several days, and yet someone still got infected. When I got the infected email I could hardly believe somebody clicked the attachment after all the warnings we got!
I couldn't agree more!!! When I got out of college, a lot of companies didn't want to give a wet-behind-the-ears graduate a chance. It almost seemed like you had to be related to someone to even get the 5-10 years experience they asked for. After getting that experience in the government, I started getting calls from headhunters, and my reaction was "F**k off! You ignored me when I needed help, now I'm ignoring you". No, I didn't actually say that, but I sure as h**l thought it!
They could, in fact, go after Walmart. The difference is that since Walmart has the resources to fight back, the case is more likely to be decided on its merits instead of on M$ resources. By including a real modem, it is now much less likely that M$ could win.
From 7 to 9PM every household member must be fastened into the new TV chairs. They must be restrained so they cannot reach the mute, volume, or channel buttons on the remote. They must use the bathroom and finish eating/drinking at 6:59. They must be muzzled so they cannot drown out the commercials by speaking loudly. They must have toothpicks inserted under their eyelids so they cannot close their eyes. Be happy, and remember; Time Warner is your friend.
As for this software, I can't see it holding up in any court. You can't say "I shut my eyes everytime I drove past a speed limit sign" and expect a judge to let you off the hook for going 120.
Well, you could, but then you'd get fined for unsafe driving.
As the other poster said, it's all about money. "Hi, we have these great PC's for $$$.$$ and Linux for dummies for $$.$$ and a boxed Mandrake distro for $$.$$"
The problem is the 2+ year release schedule. I have no problem with not having KDE3 next month. But I don't want to wait 2+ years for it. And on a corporate computer upgrading to testing isn't an option. And wouldn't it be neat to have them using Debian instead of RedHat?
But then what becomes of the stupid poor?
Yup!! I wouldn't want to live 600 years if I were sick for 500 of them!

I have! And I showed him my mailbox, and he couldn't find his message among all the crap either.

Yeah, but what's that got to do with being a mutant? I don't socialize and I'm not a - err, never mind.
The problem with LFS is that it's an enormous amount of "grunt work" to get a system that isn't even usable.

KDE3 is faster? Kewl! I haven't tried it yet, but my main gripe with KDE2 is speed (with 64MB RAM).
I need to get a new doctor!
My health nut friend warned me to stay away from yellow cake! It sounds even worse than he said it was!

Didn't Mandrake ship with KDE 2.2.2, saying that KDE 3 was too unstable? And if Mandrake thought it was unstable, do you really want to use it?
I believe RH 7.0 still used kernel 2.2. 7.1 was the first one with 2.4
My guess is that it will be more stable than 7.2 (that shouldn't be too hard).
The critical difference is that KDE isn't using its monopoly position to stop RedHat from shipping Gnome.

That's an excellent location for a lot of ads, and many of the shows.
I always blindfold myself before installing any software. So, since I can't read the EULA, it doesn't count.
